The Afghan government and forces were corrupt cowards and greedy. Twenty years and laying down without a fight. It was all about the money for them and a waste of ours. Thank goodness it's over. No question the intelligence community failed the U.S as far as the evacuation though the Taliban takeover got alot of help from the Afghan pu*** forces.

No worries though because the Taliban could be its own worst enemy. If they don't change, they will have a hard time with foreign investments and growing the country assuming they really care.

If the Taliban takes a thousand American citizens hostage and asks for an airplane full of dollars for their safe release they'll never have to work again. And they'll have enough cash to hire the Russians or the Chinese for protection.

Joe Biden works as hard as he can for Donald Trump's reelection.

CNN normally puts a positive angle on our efforts in Afghanistan but this article is missing optimism.

What’s next will be the closing of the Embassy. The vacuum can allow Iran and China to benefit from the Afghan resources. What’s next? Will Biden admit defeat in pulling out troops?
How can Biden and the U.S. support if the State department just said “get out now”?
Hard to find press updates on this topic.
Just like Vietnam, another war the US had no business entering into, the president pulling out will be the one vilified. Bottom line: we should never have gone there.

Yes, Trump set the stage but Biden has reputedly been wanting to do this for more than a decade. In the end it is his decision and I think it is ultimately the right one. Given the risks, it was a gutsy call.

Military meddling usually has an agenda that includes money, customarily that money is handed to the real winners of wars, the military contractors. All the hand wringing about those poor folks in that god forsaken desert is good PR for the the contractors and the Senators from industry who have dipped into the blood money for their campaign funds.

But the rest of us should welcome a break from profiteering in war. Americans are naive and actually believe the ruse of regime change as a real thing, but it's all theater that makes tons of money for the few and calls for the ultimate sacrifice for the many. Let's hope we can continue to save a few more American lives while turning over the war to those hopeless souls and their incessant blood baths over religion..

Nonetheless, Trump Admin and Taliban were back to negotiating early 2020 and reached an agreement in March, 2020.

According to the Military Times, US troops were reduced from 14,000 to 2500 by year end 2020. Trump wanted to deliver on his campaign promise to withdraw all troops from Afghanistan. It was an election year, after all.

The Trump Admin legitimized the Taliban by negotiating with them. Trump bragged about his phone call with the Taliban leader.

The US invaded Afghanistan in 2001 to crush the Taliban and train the Afghan military or so it said.

20 years later, the US negotiated withdrawing all troops with the Taliban.

And nearly all troops had been withdrawn in 2020.

And somehow people are shocked.
But..but... but anybody but biden. You're working overtime defending biden is doing no favor but make you look worse than ever.

This is all on Trump and Pompeo.

The problem with that Leftist SPIN is that it wasn’t just “Trump’s plan”. NATO signed off and was involved eith the negotiations and the DOHA Accords. JoeBama tossed all that in the Dumper, must be because the “smartest person” Biden knows (that would be the druggy Hunter) gave him a better plan.

Afghan, U.S., NATO Officials Call Declaration a Path for Peace February 2020 Defence.gov

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, Defense Secretary Dr. Mark T. Esper and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg all said today that any withdrawal would be conditions-based, and the Taliban would have to negotiate with Afghan officials for the process to move forward.

Achieving lasting peace in Afghanistan will require patience and compromise among all parties. But for the first time in many years, Afghanistan has a real path toward the future this country deserves."
Defense Secretary Dr. Mark T. Esper
Esper and Stoltenberg traveled to Kabul to meet with Afghan leaders and discuss the joint declaration.

Under the declaration, the Taliban have agreed to counterterrorism guarantees, Afghan-to-Afghan negotiations, a ceasefire and condition-based withdrawal of foreign forces.

NATO & the Trump Administration wanted a Negotiated, Responsible Withdrawal with clear Consequences for breaking the agreements. JoeBama wanted some sort of Victory Dance for leaving Afghanistan by September 11 and he doesn’t give a flip about Consequences for Afghans, our Allies or even Americans.

He expected the Leftist Media to cover for him the way they have done for years.
Turns out it was a horrible step too far for most of them.

No wonder TeamJoeBama all look Shell Shocked.

It was a given that control would revert back to the Taliban. The Afghans didn't stand a chance on their own. The difference, and this a big one, is that Trump would've made sure that American civilians were evacuated BEFORE he pulled out the rest of the troops and he would've made sure no weapons or other military equipment fell into the hands of the enemy.

Biden, on the other hand, ignored the advice of the military and hatched this debacle on his own without thinking it through. That kind of makes sense since he doesn't have much of a brain left anyway.

The OP thinks sleepy demented Biden walks on water. That he can do no wrong and everything goes back to Trump. What a joke. Everything Biden touches turns to crap and the OP buys into it hook, line, and sinker.
