Also, most of the Afghan civilians we are evacuating were employed by the Afghan government. You really the Afghan government would have just allowed us to airlift 90% of their people out of the country? Doesn't even make sense.
No it doesn't. I suspect that's why you said it though.
60,000+ Afghan citizens risked their lives to assist our efforts the last 20 years-which were , first and foremost, to deal with ISIS and other terrorists threats by gathering intelligence where they were.
We also have 10-20 thousand US citizens there.
I view a true Commander in Chief's responsibility to get them out alive. All 70-80,000. Period.
Historically, when you assist our nation, we have never before turned our backs on you.
To break that precedent is an abomination that I would expect only from our nation's worst enemies.
I'm so tired of all the complaining about Joe Biden's withdrawal, page after page......
1.)Weren't Americans forewarned that the war was ending and all troops were coming home? I mean withdrawal was supposed to be May 1st.
2.) Place some blame on the Afghan president for fleeing and on the Afghan army for folding and not fighting for their own country. I do not want to hear how they stopped getting paid, that's crap. If they wanted to keep the Taliban from taking over they should have fought with the weapons we gave them!!!!
3.) I'm more upset that so many weapons are now in the enemies hands.
Are we going to get our planes, guns or any of the equipment back or is it gone for good? Even the planes? We can't bomb them?
Can we bomb them? so that they can not be used against us in anyway? Seems to be an idea if we have intelligence that the Taliban are isolated in a specific area......
His poll numbers did drop. The magnitude of this under taking goes over the heads of Trump supporters who are arm chair diplomats. There should be a collective sigh of relief that this 20 year war is comming to an end. The ends justify the means.
With so many American's still over there this is just the beginning not the end.
If all the tens of thousands of our citizens and Afghans who helped us get out alive, the threads will end.
That is up to your buddy Sleepy Joe.
Well stated. The American citizens living in Afghanistan never asked to be governed by Taliban rule. That would be 100% Biden’s fault.
