His answer to this question was quite appalling and sickening. He shows how he truly feels about the situation, which is that he truly doesn't care. This would explain his strange speech today that completely neglected to mention Afghanistan.

dsjj251, stop trying to defend the indefensible. Actually, making excuses for for the indefensible. Even New Zealand got caught with their pants down. Blaming Trump doesn't cut it either. If Trumps plan was bad then Biden should have fixed that plan, not bungled it further.

Anyway, I have this question on my mind. Why would the military have followed such dumb orders from an obvious dementia patient of a president? Even Hitler's generals sometimes disobeyed him when his orders were too outlandish. Not criticizing, just asking.

I'm not in the military, but from what I understand, the tradition of obeying one's superior officers is deeply ingrained. The only time they're likely to resist an order is if it's obviously unconstitutional.

I argued against this drawdown back when we left Kandahar, and I was really outraged when we left Bagram.

We now have an unmitigated disaster on our hands. The damage that has been done, on so many levels, will last for decades.

Why didn’t we just stay the course?
I never thought going into Afghanistan was a good idea in the first place, and becoming an occupying force (no matter what the official definition was, we were an occupying force) was in my opinion a colossal mistake. We had to leave eventually, but the method of our leaving should have been far different.

George Bush brought us into this war, he is responsible, and yet was so busy offering tax breaks for the wealthy, and launching a war.
George Bush started 911 and bombed buildings in NYC?

At this point I’m becoming numb to it all.

America traded in a guy who sends mean tweets for a guy who causes refugees and humanitarians crises during a pandemic. Afghans are literally throwing their kids at western troops and we still have thousands of Americans who can’t reach the airport.

No one can defend this.

What doesn’t make sense to me is that we are in 100 other countries, including hot spots in Syria, Iraq, and a bunch of African countries as we confront Boko Haram and Al Shabab.

Apparently, that’s all ok. But keeping 2500 troops in Afghanistan is not ok?

Anyway, in the future, I’m going to advocate that we never, ever get involved again. Since we don’t have the resolve to see things through, we shouldn’t even get started in the first place.

Even if we get attacked on our own soil, we shouldn’t do anything about it. Because we won’t see it through properly. Better to just let it go.

Joe Biden, Mark Milley, Lloyd Austin and, Kamala Harris are have shown unprecedented levels of negligence, indifference, arrogance and, incompetence, to such a degree that even CNN and MSNBC (which have been de-facto propoganda machines for the Democratic party for decades at this point) can't conceal it.

America has a president who exhibits clear symptoms of Alzheimers, and even earlier in his "career" was regarded as little better than a poorly skilled huckster who slipped through the cracks. The fact that someone like this could be installed into such an office hasn't restored the honor of the presidency, it has made it a joke.

This "president" was installed fraudulently, and very obviously so. How much shoplifting do you think would occur if surveillance cameras were ordered to be removed and prohibited from installation? Well, that's what happened with our ballot counting warehouses under tbe guise of COVID and social distancing. The only ones who stood up for the integrity of the election, were about 3,000 people on that wet fart of a rebellion on January 6th.

On his first week, Biden's cabinet rejoined the Paris Climate accords, and shut down work on one of the oil pipelines, policies that drove up fuel costs and have caused the worst inflation many of us have ever seen. Biden ordered a withdraw so hasty he jeopardized the lives of the tens of thousands he left behind, and showed all of our allies that we don't have their back.

The office of the American presidency has become a joke, and the fact that he isn't recalled casts the impression to the world that the Americans who oppose Biden are weak and, the Americans who support Biden are stupid. The only reason why any countries kind of respect the American government is that we have nukes and aircraft carriers, heck, we don't even have a border! People are allowed to walk across and refuse a BS "vaccine" (which is just companies paying mayors to make laws requiring us to be guinea pigs for gene editing technology). Well, at least illegal immigration doesn't exist anymore, need a border for that.

Joe Biden is easily one of the top 5 worst presidents in American history!

Joe Biden sucks!

Like I said earlier at the very least Carter is a decent genuine guy. An ineffective CiC because of that. We do NOT need someone who wants to play nice in the Oval Office. Right now we need a Theodore Roosevelt. Alas that sort of critter has gone extinct. Far to much emphasis is placed on what the rest of the world thinks. Especially Europe. Screw what they think. But Biden will flounder and capsize and have an emotional meltdown before any action can be taken.

The Taliban are going to publicly behead Americans...for starters. And they will put the heads on stakes for all to see. Those people are vicious and backwards by American standards but they ae also fanatical, willing to die, and they are quite dangerous. Now is NOT the time to be thinking like an American. Especially a wacko leftist Democrat American wailing wringing their hands and preaching that we have to behave and play nice with the Taliban. The Taliban cannot wait to enthusiastically end American lives by the most brutal means they can dream up.

They've been dreaming about this. Scores of Americans at their mercy. And they will show no mercy. From the numbers of Americans the news is reporting trapped in Kabul this will be the single biggest loss of American life since 9/11. Hell since Normandy, the island hopping Pacific campaign, Chosin Resevoir. And these people are civilians. Own it Biden voters. You asked for it. You got it. I can't hold my temper anymore. I see this administration through a prism of naked contempt.

Soon enough the Taliban will be setting up war porn websites with the IT we put in that vermin infested country showing in as graphic a manner possible the executions of Americans. Then after they prove beyond a doubt they will happily kill Americans they'll demand billions in ransom money which this current administration will rush to pay and those varmints will kill every last American in Afghanistan anyway.Oh man, does Biden have a serious problem. Truly I think the pressure will kill him. Say hello to the only thing that could be worse than Biden. President Harris.

What makes you think Trumps plan wasn’t different than Biden’s plan?

The logic is pretty simple: you evacuate the citizens first, through Bagram airbase, then the troops.

You don’t close the one damn secure military base you have left in the middle of the night, and send the troops home before evacuating citizens.

Now Biden says the current 6,000 and special forces troops will stay AFTER his own deadline, undermining the entire point of withdrawing.
