Does your livelihood depend on tourism?

Have you had discussions with your fellow citizens who do rely on it?

Glad you're enjoying the lack of crowds. Enjoy it while you can; it's not going to be enjoyable for long.

I was planning a trip to Vietnam this summer when Vietnam opening up for vaccinated foreigners.

Boom! Covid hit Vietnam like a brick. I think most of the country has been in total draconian lockdown since May.

I suppose the majority of Germans in Nazi Germany understood the rational of their authoritarianism as well. Didn't make it right, though.

As for authoritarianism in America (you mentioned sex, but that is the least of our concerns), I in no way support it for any reason. And yeah, it's becoming a problem worthy of concern, but largely ignored.

Really? - perhaps you could explain the rationale of Nazism then? ... then we can get the ball rolling.

I'll start by saying that as long as there is no covid in the general population, life here has been pretty normal, and once high vaccination rates are achieved, the transition back to "full normal" should be relatively smooth .... that seems like a pretty clear rationale.

It seems like the US has had far more issues with this type of behaviour than NZ has .... but I understand that you don't have the luxury of being able to take the approach NZ is afforded due to it's geographic isolation.

It's "don't stop to talk to your neighbours", meaning don't congregate - an important distinction.

Advice has been to keep in touch with your neighbours, at a distance.
