National and state vaccination rates are meaningless. One needs to go to the county level. There are 3000+ counties in the US. Upstate NY trends unvaccinated and hospitalizations began to surge last month.
We have known since mid summer that the efficacy of the vaccine begins to wane at the 5-6 month mark.
The durability of immunity acquired from a prior infection is unknown, especially against newer variants.
Neither the Trump nor Biden Admins anticipated the reluctance to vaccinate to the rate that has happened in some areas.
Seems to me many of those most opposed to the vaccine are also opposed to masking and distancing. At the same time, vaccinated people gather inside with friends/ family despite they may have been vaccinated 10+ months ago.
Okay, let's look at New York County where much of Broadway is located. That county is the highest vaccinated rate in the state and they are shutting down due to these vaccinated people getting and spreading Covid like crazy.
It's time for you and others to stop blaming the unvaccinated. You are running out of unvaccinated. Most people are vaccinated.
This is just a way to deflect. The point of this thread is to show many stubborn people that still cling to the false belief that vaccinated = stopping the virus and that the unvaccinated are the ones “delaying the resumption of society.”
This belief is debunked by what is happening in highly vaccinated places like New York. Clearly, the high infection rate is driven by the vaccinated people, not the unvaccinated ones.

If there were actually vaccines for coronaviruses maybe some 40% of the population wouldn't be so reluctant.
Before so-called CoViD-19, around 50% of the US population took up the offer of annual mitigative shots for so-called flus.
These mRNA concoctions are experimental mitigative shots. Periodic mitigative shots. Very much periodic. More and more periodic. Disappointing compared to the hype, at best.
So around 50-50 ratio before, around 60-40 ratio now, and it wouldn't be surprising if the ratio reverts back to 50-50 in the coming months and years.
Only 71% of New York state population has two shots, not sure how many have three.
In the summer when Florida shattered its previous records folks were writing posts about DeSantis' great success with managing the virus.
As for closing events....hard to have a concert, see a play, watch a game when there are many of the key players sick with COVID.

Hospital administrators around the country are concerned about the surge in cases, asking people to vaccinate and get tested hardly equates to "caged animals".

How do you have a surge in cases in the most vaccinated, most restricted, most mask wearing, most leave the packages outside please and don't touch them for days, most virtual school, can't go out without a vaccination population??
