I agree. Unfortunately, here in the USA, it’s mostly the right wing authoritarians who have the guns.

Washington's army was raised from the states involved to fight for freedom from the existing government in place I am sure that the Brits might have used that phrase if it existing back then. 9-11 were terrorists who represented no government or country, sort of like January 6....

Probably too late. It would take a cultural change - as I posted upthread, the old Swiss ideal of the armed citizen in defense of his country seems, at least to me, to have been the thinking behind the 2nd. In the absence of armed enemies across the border, the US seems to have lost that mindset.
