Gas is over $4 per gallon. I do all the grocery shopping and have for years. In the past few months prices have gone up on absolutely everything by at least 20 percent if not more. I often read how the average American lives paycheck to paycheck with little savings. How are people going to afford basic necessities? Things could get ugly if credit dries up and food stamps aren’t increased substantially (though that would just make things worse in the long run). I don’t see us pulling out of this tailspin any time soon.
Gas is $5.89 where I am. There is no alternative but to endure it. I predict more crime. But criminals will also have to take into account gas prices as they cruise around in their thug-mobiles.
People will start to crack when they have to make the difficult decisions between food, medicine, food, shelter and the bare essentials but what is one to do?
The criminals will be more brazen and no doubt will start stealing gas out of cars and shoplifting will spike. The good people will try to stay out of the way to avoid being injured.
We have to endure and we will do without. The only thing we can do is vote those responsible out but that is months and years away. Meanwhile as citizens are suffering the Border is still being swarmed and the illegals are being given everything they need by Biden and his ilk.

Everyone, everywhere suffers. It's global. It's aftermath of COVID.
Prices of goods are going up because of higher wages too.
People in other countries didn't get big checks to help survive. Everyone struggle.
Maybe some people should reevaluate their budget? Cut on "wants "and only get "needs"? At least for a while till things stabilize?
The same way we did 40 years ago. Day to day while your industry shut down, the equipment was sold and the buildings were razed.
If I were a work from home/bar individual and bragged about how much more productive I am now I'd be hoping my colleagues aren't doing the same. If they are heads are going to start being cut.
Fed hasn't made a move yet to increase rates although they said last June that is what they were going to do.
Meanwhile we have runaway inflation. 7.9% is what the media says but I personally see 20%.
