Don't sell the Ukrainians short. The Russian attempt at taking Kyiv failed due to the Ukrainians fighting hard and well, while the Russians - didn't. There wasn't a whole lot of assistance showing up in those early days, certainly not of the material kind.

Russia is PATIENT. That's something that the US and Zelensky will never be when it comes to grinding down an opposing force. Russia "retreats" in order to conserve weapons and men. Ukraine blows their stash celebrates the "retreat" as a big victory for about a week ? and gets bombarded by Russia again shortly thereafter. Zelensky gets down on all fours, howls like a dog, and demands more weapons. He whines like a little girl, pouts, struts. He's laughable, and if he Loved his people, he would do anything to protect them. Anything. The weapons haven't made a discernible difference. Russia has endless weapons, Putin is not on deaths doorstep. He can give 2 hour speeches followed by a long question and answer session. Biden mumbles, and heads for the edge of a stage so his handlers can get him back on track. The US is angry because Putin has outsmarted them economically, and militarily.

The US is the one going broke. The Pentagon is more important than the American people if you have been paying attention to OUR economy. Printing money with nothing to back it up. Russia is the richest country as far as resources. We can't even solve our homeless problem, or control the borders. You can thank NATO and people like Blinken and Zelensky useful stooge of the USA.

So what happened to those tanks - did they just get tired and leave?

And don't be too sure about the necessary weaponry. The advanced artillery that the West has provided appears to have included some of the fancy smart rounds that were developed for just that purpose - BAE BONUS rounds, for instance. They may not reach the tank lagers in Crimea, but they will do an armor convoy just fine - at 20 miles.

What's remarkable is that neither side hasn't achieved air supremacy. Well, OK - it's remarkable that Russia hasn't. I don't think anyone expected Ukraine to do so.

Jake Broe interviewed Perun. Perun is an Australian who does an hour long analysis of the war. His analysis is top notch. A lot people say Russia will run of missiles soon, but he brings attention to the fact Ukraine will run out of missiles too. That is because Ukraine has to fire missiles at incoming Russian missiles. Many times the defender has to fire two missiles or more to intercept one incoming missile. If Ukraine runs low on air-defense missiles, then the Russians will be able operate their Air Force in Ukraine's air space. If Iran keeps supplying Russia with drones and missiles, the Russian will be able to achieve this goal.

Key points:

54:24 "Anybody who expects Russia to collapse tomorrow from economic pressure is probably deluding themselves."

1:00:00 "If the Western allies decide to outlast Russia, by supplying Ukraine, there is no contest, they can do it.

Then the American goes on to say.

1:02:36 "I think they are going to have funding for all of next year. So if Ukraine can get this done in 2023, I think they are solid. But if I'm being honest with my channel, if we get into 2024, I think if there is no progress being made on the ground, if it is just trench warfare, gridlocked, nothing is being done, then yeah I think the average American at that point in 2024 might lose interest."

I agree with those points. Russia will not collapse. Anybody who thinks they will is just Looney Tunes. If the West decides to outlast Russia, then they can do it easily. But American patients will run out, probably in the next year. So all Russia has to do is keep fighting for another 2 years and they will win. If the West doesn't get serious before then and start giving Ukraine better support, then the Russians will win.

The idea that the U.S. will grow tired of war is pretty hilarious.

Russia is screwed. There is no longer a way to win the war, and no way to build back the military they have lost.
Support for Ukraine is causing permanent damage within Russia as partisans and saboteurs attack facilities such as oil refineries, shopping malls, and tire manufacturing plants. The loss of these facilities, some of which are state owned, is taking its toll on the Russian economy.
Oil, when sold, is sold at deep discount and now Germany has opened its first LNG plant, enabling it to receive LNG from Qatar and The US among several others. Russia, meanwhile has watched as its expensive gas pipelines are abandoned or destroyed.

Russia's small manufacturing base is slowly being choked off as parts for manufacturing equipment become scarce and new equipment unavailable due to sanctions. The automotive industry is at a near standstill, down 61.6% year-over-year.

Post war scenarios are now being discussed. The most desirable scenario is for Russia to simply leave all portions of Ukraine, the Kerch Bridge destroyed and leave sanctions in place for a period of years. Russia would simply rot in place.
In 1957 The Soviet Union was the world's 2nd largest economy. Russia has not seen the bottom yet.

What is the basis for this perception that the US is not patient? We just spent 17 years in Afghanistan. Probably longer for Iraq if you include since 1991. How many years were we in Vietnam? We've stuck to our guns on Cuba policy since 1959. We've been in South Korea since 1950. We saw WWI and WWII through til the end. When have we ever NOT been patient?
