Correct. I merely put in the title used by ISW. Yes, definitely there is no real offensive yet, which will most likely start in the timeframe that you specified.

There is A LOT of gamewords tossed around as that war is mainly a media war. Every bush taken by AFU is glorious victory and every 5 meters advancement is breakthrough for both sides.
RAF is - finally - back to the times tested books and does perfectly fine, proven, positional warfare front swinging. French were the first one to come up with this tactic back in the WW1 but, it's only tactic.

If there was a peace deal, I don't remember it. What I remember is, "We are here to take over. Move out of the way". That's not much of a peace deal.
Russia's Peace Deal that Ukraine nearly accepted.

1, Ukraine can join economic alliances like the EU

2, Ukraine cannot join NATO

3, Ukraine cannot allow foreign military into its country

4, Ukraine must give legal status to Russian language

5, Ukraine must admit Crimea is Russian

6, Russia will take no land from Ukraine (except Crimea from 2014)

7, Ukraine must limit its military to basically current (2022) numbers

Yes, I think Russia assumed Ukraine would accept the peace deal once tanks rolled across the border and allegedly Ukraine was about to until the West talked them out of it.

There's only one deal now:
1. unconditional surrender
2. provisional government under Russian protectorate
3. NATO/US moves all of its stuff back to 1991 deployment.

That's the point I challenge. "The west talked them out of it" is the talking point everyone uses. Who in "the west" talked to "who" in Ukraine?
And why would Ukraine entertain such an insanely lopsided deal, which only insures their destruction at a later date because they have agreed to stay weak against an enemy who has already violated the last agreement!?

It was crazy. And it arranged for Russia to defeat Ukraine later. So I don't think "the west" needed to talk anyone out of rejecting that deal.

Unlikely to happen as Russia is pushing back the Ukrainians hard. There will be no negotiations and no deals, except unconditional surrender from the Ukrainians.

Love those posts.

Circle back in about 3-5 years. Aight?

PS. It reminds me of an old joke, circulating in Ukraine.
Two nationalists meet in the morning, and one says - Hey, I had a strange dream! I'm in a field, with machine gun, and Russians attack me, and I shoot, and shoot and shoot... killed a million of them!
Oh, c'mon, not a million!
Well, ten thousand for sure!
Oh, c'mon, not ten thousand!
Well, maybe none, but I hate them so much, I hate them so much!

Point being - it's completely irrational hatred to some other nations, that causes posts like the one I responded to.
