EU countries will most likely send the Ukranian refugees back to step into the meat grinder before any EU country sends in soldiers in size.

Interesting point. So much for protecting refugees in supposed "civilized" countries.

Heard it being mentioned for some time now doubt it actually happens.

The world works off tit for tac. Is it now okay for Russia to supply Iran with missiles that can strike the U.S. mainland? Is it okay for them to supply the Houthi's with updated drones and anti-ship missiles that can evade missile defense systems.

At this point I'm convinced Western leaders are driven by nothing more than ego. It makes no good sense to support Ukraine to this level. Our economic system is being harmed, and each move makes the possibility of WWIII reality.

The fact they are considering such measures shows how bad the war must be going for Ukraine.
Its like giving the North Vietnamese safety past the border. Its stupid. The Ukrainians should be able to use it to interdict Russian aggression. That doesn't mean attacking Moscow, but roads, bridges, railroads, fuel supplies close to the border (100km or so) are valid targets for defensive reasons.

As expected the Russians have responded to the British expulsion of Russian defence attache, named as Colonel Maxim Elovik, and have now expelled British diplomat Adrian Coghill, with the Russian's adding that the "initiators of the escalation will be informed about further retaliatory steps".

Although no one really cares, and tbh I am all for sending the entire Russian Embassy home given the Russian Intelligence Services involvement in numerous incidents in recent decades including the deaths of several individuals in the UK and the latest arson attacks, as well as computer hacking and other espionage activities etc.

Russia gives British diplomat Adrian Coghill a week to leave Moscow - BBC News (16th May 2024)

More Russian turtle tanks are destroyed on the battlefields now that Ukraine has more artillery shells. While the outer walls of the turtle tank can withstand small grenades dropped from drones, they are not nearly as effective against much heavier artillery shells.

Russian electronic jamming has been effective against the J-Dam glide bomb. But that is about to change, as American engineers are working on a counter solution. Future versions of the bomb will seek out the electronic jamming units and destroy them. Unfortunately for Ukraine, the updated J-Dam bombs won't be available for a while.

I love the cat-and-mouse game.

Zelensky says Ukraine can't afford to lose Kharkiv and it would be a massive blow to lose the 2nd biggest city in the country.

He also claims it will be the world's fault if this happens as he is already asking the US for more.

He then claims that if the US gives them just 2 more Patriot missile systems that Ukraine can save Kharkiv. Does anyone outside of the Denys watchers actually believe that just 2 more Patriot missile systems alone will save the city?

May be they shouldn't have forced Kharkov, 100% Russian speaking city before 2014, to speak Ukrainian in the first place.

Russia, who is winning this three-week war, has withdrawn most of its Black Sea Fleet far away to Port of Novorossiysk on the Black Sea coast.

Novorossiysk is a very target-rich location and today, Ukraine sent in swarms of drones attacking railroad hubs, fuel depots, shipyards, and of course the many Black Sea Fleet ships at anchor. Both aerial and marine drones were used. Over 30 fires are burning in the area.

The drone attack above was filmed by Russians at the scene.
Over 80 aerial drones were used. The witness says they just lined up and came in. Anti aircraft fire was ineffective. Must have felt like Pearl Harbor.

Ukraine says maritime drones were used, too.
