Go look at the campaign and the threats to the librarians and the board members, look at the sign in OPS article on the lawn about grooming the kids and recommending a no vote for the $24 increase.

This was all about the residents buying into the claims of "grooming" that are happening across the nation. If they wanted to remove a book there was a process, instead they are closing the library.

a few thoughts: i am against “banning books” but for representation of community needs/desires. pornography has absolutely no place in the library. controversial books DO have a place in the library. people are so tired of the lgbT agenda being shoveled into their mouths constantly. most people are quite tolerant of other lifestyles and don’t care what you do with your privates, but they don’t want to know - or care enough to know, and certainly not have their kids exposed to it at inappropriate ages. instead, it’s a constant stream of all things lgbT. people have had enough. the library (like school boards) should represent the community that funds it. if the community doesn’t want it, then it shouldn’t be in the collection. if a small group wants it, they can get it through other means. no one is banning lgbt things from existing, merely voicing their opinions through their votes that they are done with the grooming.

have to respond to this. banning something from existing is different than excluding something from a collection. the left wants to ban things from existing and words from appearing. the right wants representative government.

If the parents don't want LGBTQ kids, they should stop having them. The kids know who they are before they could read most of those books.

These are people who obviously need to take advantage of free libraries a lot more often.

Why not just move such books to the Adult Only section of the library.

Some books are restricted by age in many libraries and unless your library card shows that you are old enough, you can not borrow such books or works.

Problem solved.
