"Serena Williams: 'If I Were A Guy, I Wouldn’t’ Have To Choose Between Tennis And A Family'"

"If I told the truth I would not be saying this" is the translation.

Oh that's all she is saying...

Yea, her life is so unfair she is one of the top tennis players man or woman in the history of the sport. She has a family and apparently still has the opportunity to have more kids. She and her kid(s) won't have to worry about finances for the rest of their lives. But yea it's so unfair that if she was a man she wouldn't have to stop playing because the woman needs to stay home and suffer through the pregnancy.

Nothing is awful that she will miss something she has devoted her life to. It is the reason. It isn't that she is content with her life. It isn't that she is ready to go on with the next phase of her life. She goes out saying that she is only making this choice because she is not a man.

I wish her well in her life and have no problem with her choice. But I haven't seen anything that makes me think she is "fine with it" and I'm not going to pretend that she has shown any indication that she doesn't truly think that if she was a man she could still be playing. That is NOT someone who is content and fine with their decision. It has "regret" written all over it.

actually, if she were a guy, she wouldn't be able to retire at all. she'd have to compete with men, and pro tennis would not have been a possibility for her.

Now, if Tom Brady gets hurt and winds up being forced to retire, guys aren't going to play any violins for him, either.

We'll just say, "He should have kept his old azz at home."

one small difference. When Dskovic decides he wants another kid. He doesn't get pregnant -- and he doesn't have to deliver the baby.

So no it isn't the same and the fact you haven't figured that out is interesting.

Um, can't Serena's *partner* just identify as a woman and have the kid instead? Let's not be bigoted ok?
