No one here uses AC on the coast, especially in November. We do however, have to use all the lights, digital or not, because of our energy policies. 40 million people being forced to turn on the electricity due to the time change.
I wasn't speaking of the coast. I was speaking of inland and the desert areas where people live and it gets very hot in both of those places. Again, an energy saving light bulb is much cheaper to use than running an air conditioner.
Once again, the sun is lower in the sky in the morning so it doesn't get hot until noon and stays that way till late in the day and early evening. We don't need that extra hour tacked on at the end of the day for that reason.

The only thing I can think of is he goes to work and turns his AC off during that period (or lowers it). Otherwise it doesn't make sense, except maybe psychologically.
Permanent daylight savings time makes perfect sense.

I mentioned it upthread. I am also not sure if a Republican led House will pursue it.
On one hand, the new Speaker might want to bring it to vote, so that he can feel that he is effective in that role.
However, Biden would pass it, and it could be viewed as a Biden legislative win, even though it was Republican sponsored.
Maybe that is the one and few things they get through though, before they start impeachment inquiries and it gets ugly.

The one thing I remember reading on the challenges of Daylight Savings, Congress would need to schedule hearings with airlines and other industries that would be deeply impacted. I don't think it is a simple and time-free as it seems.
I personally like keeping DST all year round but I think an even better idea would be to split the difference and do a one time 30 minute adjustment.
It would be too messy with the rest of the world.
I think if we fix the time (don’t go back or forward) states can choose an appropriate timezone to slide into. For some DST will make sense for others Standard Time.

Agreed. I don't like it dark in the morning nor do we need it to be light out till 9 or 10 in the summer especially here in the southwest with our long hot summers.
