Not surprising with the layoffs and people leaving.

Quote:
New Twitter owner Elon Musk declared last month that “hate speech impressions” had dramatically fallen on the platform since he took over.

It was a remarkable claim, given that Musk has executed mass layoffs and chased away hundreds of employees, draining the company of much-needed resources to enforce content moderation policies, which the billionaire has also publicly criticized.

On Friday, two watchdog groups published research that indicated Musk’s claim simply did not hold water, offering one of the clearest pictures to date of the surging tide of hate speech on the platform.

The Center for Countering Digital Hate and Anti-Defamation League both said in reports that the volume of hate speech on Twitter has grown dramatically under Musk’s stewardship.

Specifically, the Center for Countering Digital Hate said the daily use of the n-word under Musk is triple the 2022 average and the use of slurs against gay men and trans persons are up 58% and 62%, respectively.

I'm sorry to say but from my experience on Twitter - the hate is way less than it was previously and I put that off to so many liberals leaving Twitter. Your experience may vary but I've definitely seen less hate speech.

What the Left generally considers to be "hate speech", conservatives usually call "free speech". The First Amendment is there to protect offensive speech you don't want to hear.

I sincerely doubt the OP can post a single example of this "hate speech" or that I would agree that it is hate speech. I am sure it is offensive. I read tons of offensive posts here on a daily basis that I would not identify as "hate speech".

Beyond that, the Leftist liars have been "crying wolf" for so long and spewing Democrat Party propaganda, I would never assume anything I read from them is true. I would have to go to the source to verify.

Hate speech was always prevalent on Twitter. Under previous leadership, however, hate speech from leftists and Islamists (Iran’s supreme leader has a Twitter page and regularly bashes the Jewish state as an example) was not decried as such by the old Twitter leadership.

Using the N word doesn't quite equal free speech.

Post up a quoted use of the N word on Twitter and Musk allowing it, or else admit you are wrong.

It seems you may be wrong. It's in rap music, movies, etc. I've heard black people using this word all the time when speaking to each other.

Like most things, it depends on the context.

I don't want this word in my life, but I have no choice... It's everywhere. A bunch of lefties pretending to be the word police will no more deter the use of the word than Al Sharpton pretending to bury the word with a symbolic act.

He gave everyone who was banned amnesty.

so they got a 2nd chance and, as West found out, they can be banned suspended yet again.

It was bound to happen since twitter is so political leaning. It will fizzle out after a while.
Bet all those employees that quit thought Twitter would be out of business by now.
Now they can join the other 80,000 unemployed tech workers in looking for a new job.

Unless a Black person says it and then it's all perfectly OK.
