There's no hiding the fact that this has the appearance of corruption in the highest court in the land. It certainly shows the SCOTUS decisions are more questionable now than in the past. Unfortunately, there's not much that can (realistically) be done about it. An impeachment would be nearly impossible, given the current political situation.

From what I read, the only issue here is what was or wasn't reported, and I'd be willing to bet a whole lot of stuff isn't reported by people that are supposed to be reporting it. Including a good number of the people that hate Clarence Thomas simply because he's a conservative on the Supreme Court.
Would it be a lesser offense if he was friends with a neighbor that won a Powerball Jackpot and paid for vacations?

I am sure being a black Supreme Court justice has significance from a historical perspective just like we were told that anyone who questioned Barack Obama was doing so because of his race. I think the same can apply to this situation. Racism on full display
This investigation is well past due. He has been getting gifts and not reporting them for 20 years. This coupled with his refusal to recuse himself when he or his wife have conflicts of interest makes a probe very necessary.
