I just saw on the fake MSM that in the clip where Thomas tells us how much he loves to stay in Walmart parking lots when travelling that if one zooms in on the logo of his polo shirt, you can see it is the logo of Harlan's Crow's superyacht embroidered on the shirt! How rich is that?

Of course not. They live with out rules. Even unwritten ones. My momma used to say - don’t let your good be evil spoken of. Think that’s biblical. Just like - people want to know who you are, the will know by your friends. Watch who you run with.

The man is no Justice Thurgood Marshall, and has never been known for keen legal analysis. But he has law clerks with decent educations. Surely, he could have asked them to check this out.
Perhaps Thomas might offer the names of the colleagues and advisors that lead him to believe he was exempt from reporting requirements, because right now I'm left with speculating if it was 'some guy said' or Lawyer McLawyerface. Seems like an easy and reasonable ask. How 'bout it Clarence?

One trip worth over $500K in 2019 and he's taken these trips every year for twenty years without reporting it? How is that okay?
What's wrong with some trips with a friend? You can't influence a person in your own party.

Of course you can! If a Supreme Court Judge is suppose to rule objectively but his bestest pal has been taking him on half million dollar trips for twenty years and he feels beholden, one might throw all objectivity out the window and say yeah, I agree with whatever the guy says.

Thank you for being the adult in the room!
Absolutely it smacks of corruption.

From the ProPublica article...

Federal judges sit in a unique position of public trust. They have lifetime tenure, a privilege intended to insulate them from the pressures and potential corruption of politics. A code of conduct for federal judges below the Supreme Court requires them to avoid even the “appearance of impropriety.” Members of the high court, Chief Justice John Roberts has written, “consult” that code for guidance. The Supreme Court is left almost entirely to police itself. There are few restrictions on what gifts justices can accept. That’s in contrast to the other branches of government. Members of Congress are generally prohibited from taking gifts worth $50 or more and would need pre-approval from an ethics committee to take many of the trips Thomas has accepted from Crow.

Can you cite to the reporting requirement? And not some post on CD.

Unless I've been lied to for decades, a Supreme Court justice is supposed to be apolitical.

sounds like some people here are jealous they don't have any rich friends. He broke no law. He was friends with these people long before he was a Justice. He's lifetime, focus on another angle.
