If some of ya'll would just accept the fact that most of these politicians (both sides) are shaddy AF, you'll sleep better at night. Politics is a dirty game - deal with it and make mine a double.

Actually they don't. I disagree with it but the SCJ do not have to report them.

What supports that idea?

If Justice Thomas got advice from others on the court regarding reporting, I wonder what the others did and said hospitality didn’t need to be reported.

When traveling and someone sends their plane to pick you up is that hospitality?

I find it laughable that he is blaming others for bad advice when he's a SCJ. Would he accept that excuse from others?

Very true. But each side thinks there side is less corrupt. Perhaps the SCOTUS should make public their tax returns. Did Thomas declare all the stuff he got?

It wasn't bad advice. He wasn't required to disclose his time with close friends as they were "personal hospitality" in nature. Point blank. Only a few weeks ago did ethics requirements change to require such disclosure. Thomas pointing out the advice just shows how widespread within the Court such an interpretation of the then-rules were, which add credence to his position that the nondisclosure of time spent with friends was completely in alignment with the rules.

Did you notice that Justice Thomas did not deny it but basically admitted it?
