And that is the whole problem right there.
You think it is all about you and you have no interest in others health, safety or comfort.
And non smokers are superior, they understand what smoke does to lungs and have some respect for their own bodies.
All that is nothing but your avoidance of my one simple question. If you don't like smoke, and a business owner wants smoking, why don't you go somewhere else? A business owner has the right to run his business according to his/her beliefs, not yours. I could understand if you were talking about a place you had to go. But we are talking restaurants and bars, not hospitals. You can't answer, so you choose to duck the issue. If I want smoking allowed in a privately owned business of mine, I should be allowed to dictate it and you should deal with it or go somewhere else. My health and my business are not your concern.

I don't have to go somewhere else, I live in an area where smoking is outlawed in all public buildings, been that way for years.
Barely even remember when smoking was allowed indoors.
Your right, your health is not my concern and it does not sound like it is your concern either.

Hey, look at the bright side! Think of all the Social Security payments we will save after the smokers die of emphysema or lung cancer or heart disease.
Here in Minnesota we have been dealing with a smoking ban on restaurants and bars. The ban was struck down state-wide, except in the counties that surround Minneapolis/St. Paul. Many people are upset that smoking is not allowed in public places. I for one am extremely happy for this because I simply don't like the smell of cigarette smoke and all other types. My wife and kids have severe asthma so that is yet a more important reason for not wanting to be around the smoke.
Many people of course are whining that their rights are being taken away by these bans that have been in place for about a year now. My take on it is what about the rights of nonsmokers? What about the rights of people like my young kids who have asthma and can't go out to restaurants if there is a smoking section? It's a controversy where there are no winners...and everyone loses...like my mother-in-law who died due to smoking.
really? you like to force people who own private businesses to not do something that is perfectly legal.
I do not care if a business lets their people smoke or not. i do not smoke and still do not care one bit.
what is next? the politicians and health nazis going to make it illegal for people to drink beer while watching the vikings lose another football game?
if you do not like a business that caters to smokers, then just do not go to that business. that is the way it should have always been. instead we have politicians and health nazis dictating that businesses cannot have any smoking in the building at all, even though it is a legal substance.
what a crock you people are. next thing you know it will be illegal BBQ's, overweight people, smoking in your own home and drinking at home.
If these micromanaging busybodies can't stand second hand smoke, they better not be driving. Here in Los Angeles, the act of breathing is equivelent to smoking a pack a day!
My take on it is what about the rights of nonsmokers?
When you enter an establishment that allows smoking do what the rest of us do when we are somewhere we don't want to be, put on your big pants and leave. It's really as simple as that.
What about the rights of the employees to work in a healthy environment?
There is certainly jobs that are much more hazardous and if that is a concern apply for a job elsewhere.
