I doubt it. why wouldn't someone want a postal job. they pay well, have great retirement and so on. the state of NC telling me that just has to do with their hiring process. other government jobs I interviewed for in my life didn't come out and say it, but I have a feeling that me being a white male played a role in their consideration.

I don't know. There's every type working at the post offices I go to: Male, female, white, Asian, black, gay, straight, old, young, immigrants, etc.
I'm a white male and I don't think I've ever been discriminated against. I can't say the same for black males though; I think they have been discriminated against for some time and it's sad.

it might just be the places I have lived. I live in a part of my town that is mostly black. when I lived in metro DC, it's only like 50% white. perhaps I am just used to being the minority.

Come to California, where everybody is a minority.

And deep down all postal workers are the same...destructive psychopaths who think all packages, but especially the ones marked "Fragile", are to be thrown as far and as hard as possible. Anyone(anything) can be hired and no one is ever fired for destroying property. It's a cushy job....but it would be fun if they actually had to take an English comprehension course since they ARE working in the U.S....but, no, why would anyone need to be able to read instructions or addresses or big words like "Fragile"?
No. My people have come too far and overcome too much to "feel" like someone can push us back into our darkest days.
Throughout much of what we know about early European history, even in pre-history, we were besieged, pushed into serfdom, enslaved and attacked by forces that should have wiped us out. We prevailed. We overcame. We even battled amongst ourselves for much of recorded history and have enjoyed relative peace for only a few decades. But no, we don't have to feel like anyone owes us anything because our forefathers those thousands of years ago were so disadvantaged and forced to live in such horrible conditions.
Seriously dude. If a Caucasian is whining about being discriminated against, tell him to man the hell up and get a job. Maybe he has to start off down at the Wal Mart, but no one is holding anyone back in the US. There's no law against starting from nothing and becoming wealthy. IF one manager tells you "No, we need to meet a quota." Fine. That's his call. Move on to the next one. Life ain't easy or fair. If it was, it wouldn't be much fun now would it?
