Your "right" to buy contraception legally and do what you like in the privacy of your own house would still be "ruled a right," too. A tenuous grip at 5-4, but you'd still have it...barely.

The "right" may not exist for much longer.

If if and but were candy and nut, what a wonderful Christmas we'd all have.

How I ended up pregnant is beyond me...I'm a lesbian who doesn't have sex with men and my girlfriend and I have no plans to ever have children.

If I had a daughter and she had an abortion, I wouldn't be sad at the loss of a grandchild.

To think someone would be sad over an abortion because they lost a grandchild, that just seems sad to me.
If you define your life over the presence of grandchildren...
Sad....just sad.
Dont dream too much crazy **** girlfriend.

I too said the same thing. If my grand daughter had an abortion, I would first of all be concerned about her well being. Not the "grandchild"

Positions on abortion are "hardly" based in religious beliefs, or align with a political position? Separately or combined they're both ideological stances.
Jesus. If there were ANY laws that controlled men, they would be throwing hissy fits and crying.

Wuss.

Each anti-choice household adopts a minimum of 3 children who would otherwise have been aborted. You maintain the mom throughout her pregnancy and support the kids until they're 18. It might be a little more expensive than it's costing you in tax dollars now, but it might help you appreciate the plight of the poor.
I would sooo support Obama if he did that. LOL!!!!

And you think there aren't any?

There are laws that tell me what I can and can't put in my body.

Sure I can use alcohol and tobacco until I'm blue in the face, but the government dictates that I can't smoke pot or shoot heroin or snort coke. And it's MY body.

There are also laws that tell me I have to protect MY body in a car by putting on a seat belt.

There are many more examples of laws that control me even when my conduct would have no direct effect on others.

You know exactly what I mean. Banning abortion would just impact women. These laws impact both.

And you dont have to follow those rules. Smoke some pot or shoot heroin in your house. I know people who do it. Have not got busted to this day.

Don't put on a seatbelt if you dont want too.

You never answered my question about government intrusion. Why don't you support banning government intrusion that already exists in areas other than abortion?
How about those other 10% of pregnancies? If there are a million or so ABs in the US every year, that's only 100,000 you have to put your money where your mouth is and adopt.

Dont even have to let them into your home - just pay for them. At the same time that you're paying for the abstinence programs and free contraception and advertising and delivery thereof to prevent the other 90%.

And why stop at the US borders? You guys were angry about US taxpayer money going to fund birth control and ABs in other countries. Why not the anti-choicers sign on with the UN to adopt or support children who otherwise would have been aborted from all around the world? That'll put your complacent "worldview" into perspective

Im just saying, prove your commitment - put your money where your mouth is and adopt, or otherwise support, some kids to age 18.

Isn't odd that the government is pro-life when it comes to suicide? Try to kill yourself and the government will intervene. The police will stop you from killing yourself and save you when you try. A judge would have you committed to a state hospital for observation.
I guess women really can't do whatever they want with their bodies. Men can't either...
