Why do you say that?

A LOT of UHC systems have money issues which ends up meaning less care...just like with for profit.

Difference is with for profit systems is if enough people get POed,it will cost them money...if the gov. run system is run this way,so what???

For the same reason they'll leave the US. Why stay in a country once the currency and economy starts falling apart?

I can't believe people think the dollar is "strong". Not with all the money being force fed into the system. Turn on the hot water in your shower. Nothing comes out just yet. Turn it on a little more. Still nothing yet. Turn it on a little more. Still nothing. Turn it on a li....OUCH!!!!

My stance on this issue is the insurance industry is out of control and extremely greedy. I'm very angry at both parties and the Federal government. The insurance industry creates nothing but to pool money and skim off 2/3 for profit and then has the stones to tell the doctor how and when to treat the patient. Obama and his group will not put forth a viable solution because they are in the pockets of the insurance industry and have been from the very beginning, not to mention the republican party. The American people are the poor dumb SOBs in the middle getting stiffed. There should be a non-profit, one payer system that will compete with private insurance companies. This does not mean it needs to be the fed performing this and it doesn't mean private insurance should disappear, and shouldn't, but it has to be a single payer with millions of working Americans contributing and spreading the risk, not separated into small groups of people, otherwise it will fail. I've heard Obama's plan would save the policy holders around 10% which is a complete joke and will not be sustained. The 800 lb, money eating guerilla needs to be removed out between the doctor and patient and end this nonsense of the patient being treated like they are consumers instead.

If by "leftist" you mean "logical" then okay...

Who has more incentive to keep you healthy? A private insurance company and medical establishment who would like to see you spend as much money as possible? Or a government entity that would like to spend as little as possible YET keep you healthy?

Answer seems obvious to me....

And instead of institutional green walls in their office they will have happy rainbow colors with a smattering of unicorns for a placebo effect.

Why do you think the gov. wants to keep you healthy???
It wants to provide the most care for the money,if that means those that require more care suffer...well it IS for the greater good of society.

It's just is a bummer when you are the one who has to suffer...

I would rather neither. But why lie to ourselves and act like Dr's are making the decisions now?
