Not sure what your point is, or what you are suggesting? I dont believe anyone has even suggested an excuse. The fact that it is a man beating a woman is enough to outrage anyone of any political stance.

I know this and lapse into a passive intellectual state from time to time.

Thinking about the hue and cry over Rep Wilson's remarks--I seem to remember some vicious things being said during the 2004 presidential campaign. Obviously whatever was said wasn't that important to me because I only remember it as a 'dark time'.

There are certainly policy issues that affect everyone and a few things make me want to lash out whether that is nice or not. Having endured at least 3 decades of discussion on 'racism'--that is something that occasionally makes me want to move to Australia/anywhere but here.

Chances are good if I were to turn on my TV set in Australia I would not be free of the negativity of the media and people would be discussing similar issues, with a more interesting accent.

Sure, we know about it because we get a lot of our news here, but the rest of America has no clue.

As for the guy who beat a woman in front of her child, how do you not impose a penalty on this person that makes any additional charges redundant?

Well, we all know what hate crimes laws are really all about. We have one set of laws that applies only to white heterosexuals who oppose abortion, gay marriage and indoctrination of our kids and makes them responsible for the actions of others because of an opinion they expressed. It's just another example of the left using the Constitution for toilet paper.

Those laws that your referencing is called the constitution and the LEFT as well as the Rights who understand that piece of paper use it in the manner that it was written. Those who choose to instill their own selfish values use it for used toilet paper. Try again.

In fact most of the locals down there probably approve of what he did which is why they did not interfere as she was stomped, kicked, called "dirty n***r" in front of her kid.

I don't know where you live, but I live in GA also and I take offense at that statement. I don't know any "locals" who would approve of that situation.

I hope you are being sarcastic and all of this is in response to the off the wall calls for hate crime prosecutions whenever race is an issue because there seems to be a great deal of misunderstanding about the nature of Federal hate crime laws.

The purpose of Federal hate crime legislation is not to prosecute every offense where race plays a part, but is instead intended to be used to prosecute cases where race, sex, religion or national origin are the motivation for the crime and where local law enforcement declines to vigorously pursue prosecution.

people are scared. I remember a story when I lived in Florida two women saw a girl being attacked and they walked away because they were afraid. I'm rowdy so I'd probably have been all on his back trying to scratch his eyes out (especially once I heard what he was saying) I don't have a knack for minding my own business my boyfriend says I'm probably going to get shot if I'm ever involved in a confrontational situation.

I agree 100% with this. The FBI getting involved is just the federal government trampling state's rights.

Georgia does not have hate crime laws. Assault is a state crime, not a federal crime. The victim was off duty, not in uniform, not anywhere near a voting booth..... there is no legitimate reason for the feds to get involved.

This is aggravated assault, a state crime. And as Georgia does not have hate crime statutes, this is not a hate crime.
