This bill tramples those rights. That is my biggest beef with this bill (among other things). If the bill did not trample those rights and actually allowed this minority to opt out of a system they would never use, I wouldn't be so huffy about the whole thing.

You have a very selective memory. I can think of many: Gary Hart, John Kerry, The Clintons, The Kennedys.
None of them were subjected to what Sarah Palin has been. Were any of them sued multiple time in frivolous lawsuits that were mainly aimed at harassment? How many of the ones you have named have had their families ridiculed and filthy jokes made about them on T.V. (perhaps Gary Hart, but I don't remember any). I seriously doubt anyone went to their hometowns to dive into dumpsters looking for dirt.
Kerry has been treated with far more respect than he deserves for being a bald faced liar, and a traitor (going around the world with Jane Fonda trashing the U.S and putting our servicemen at greater risk.
The Kennedy's have always been treated like they were royalty. Who are you kidding?

Two Kennedy's were murdered. What Palin is going through is petty. And she deserves every last bit of it. She should just go back to the kitchen and make some moose stew.
Palin resigned as governor, thus abandoning her duty to office, because she wanted to continue taking first class, narcissistic, tours of America. She became addicted to this during the campaign. She of course likes the money but more so, she likes traveling first class and being worshiped at every stop.
The motive behind what Palin does is herself!
And the motive behind what Reid, Pelosi, and the entire Democrat Congress is doing is ... ?
Bribes, favors, sweetheart deals on mortgages, land deals ...
The silly accusations against Palin for leaving her office early for any reasons other than those she gave, fall flat, given what you people have done to her, and given the complete lack of integrity of any Democrat you can name.
Let's face it, if she had remained in office, you people would be criticizing her for not doing her job, because of all the lawsuits and time spent fighting them, and you would be calling for her resignation, and you know it as well as I do. Can we have a little honesty here?

How unfortunate for her...that her poor character led to all of those lawsuits. It's not that hard to figure out why she's so unlikeable.
They cannot see that. One eye is open and the other is closed.
She worries them to bad they are trying anything they can.
Be scared, very scared that she is a total rock star.
The Number One reason they hate her is because she is Christian. And everyone knows it.
But, we would be far better of today, with Palin as President (I know she was not running for President, I'm just supposing) than we are right now with Barack Obama.
We wouldn't have the debt. We would not have the unemployment (now over 10% and climbing), we wouldn't have this horrible "health care bill" looming over us, which threatens to destroy us completely, we wouldn't have the threat of "cap 'n tax" (which is to combat a hoax), and now that the cat is out of the bag, science just might be put back in it's proper place, with real scientists doing real honest research with peer review (and not "consensus").
We would also be gaining respect in the world because we would have a real free world leader, one who believs in liberty and in our Constitutional principles; not a showman, who loves to hear himself talk, who loves to see his face everywhere, and whom right now the whole world is laughing at because they see he is a fool. He is an empty suit.
