I lean mostly to the left liberal side, but I am not so sure of the current bill that is going through the Senate. It looks like everyone was paid off to get what they want for their own state just to pass it. There is no doubt we need to reform the current system, so what would be your plan? I am currently one of the people who work full time, but my employer offers no insurance, and I cannot afford private insurance. Still, I feel this bill is flawed, so I thought I would ask the other side for their viewpoint.

Don't be surprised if a conservative asks
'what healthcare problem?'
'Everything's been fine with healthcare, it's Obama that's the problem'.

Here are four simple steps that would help reform the current system:
  1. Let families and businesses buy health insurance across state lines.
  2. Allow individuals, small businesses, and trade associations to pool together and acquire health insurance at lower prices, the same way large corporations and labor unions do.
  3. Give states the tools to create their own innovative reforms that lower health care costs.
  4. End junk lawsuits that contribute to higher health care costs by increasing the number of tests and procedures that physicians sometimes order not because they think it's good medicine, but because they are afraid of being sued.
For more information about some of the other common-sense health care reforms proposed by Republicans, see the following links below:Now when others claim Republicans have only obstructed the process to reform health care insurance, you will know without any doubt that they are lying.

competition is irrelevant as long as the health insurance industry has their treasured antitrust exemption. they price-fix and we can do nothing about it.

What some others have said, plus:

1. Not a government take-over (like it's being done now)
2. Stop frivolous lawsuits (against doctors, clinics, hospitals, medicine producers or developers, medical equipment producers, etc.).
3. Have the insurance companies centralizing billing and other paperwork, etc., so that all insurance companies go through the same central point.

The government should only provide health care only to US citizens who can't afford or are incapable of buying their own insurance, and never to force US citizens to buy insurance.

1. Eliminate pre-existing conditions

2. Make "COBRA" time infinite

3. Roll the "uninsured" into medicare, globally reducing the benefits that medicare recipients would recieve. This would, of course, infuriate the voting elderly, miffed at thier loss of benefits, throw out the twits responsible, and restore order to the system. Keep in mind that some do not want insurance (the young and healthy) and some do not deserve insurance (illegal aliens- otherwise- insure the planet).

buying across state lines isn't going to mean diddly squat as long as the healthcare monopoly is still in place.

I do like the idea of rolling the uninsured into medicare ...
