So by your own admission, Democrats did not support the black candidate..
If Rendell were a black Democrat yes they'd support him. There is no doubt Democrats will elect blacks. The issue is why won't Republicans elect blacks to Congress. Not since the 1990's. It seems they are going backwards not forward on this issue.

I think my boy, you just determined the difference.. Republicans will support someone based upon issues, and Democrats will support someone because they are a Democrat, regardless of policies..
Would you vote for a Republican who's black? I think not.. So you are either validating your own racism, by saying the only way you would support and vote for one who's black is if they had a D next to their name, or you are disvalidating your racism claims of R's by saying that you would vote for someone just because they have a D next to their name.. Which is it?
Lets put it this way, because Swann was black, you wouldnt support him with an R next to him, but I bet dam well you would if he had a D next to it, wouldnt you? You think we're going backwards? I think not, we arent the party that had to put their "token black" in the White House, are we? (and yes, the claim of token black is just as valid as this thread.. either the thread is bs, or the token black president is bs.. you take your pick)
I refuse to engage in personal insults. But thanks for playing.

Ahh, but you had no problem partaking in personal insults when it involved calling me a racist because I dont have blacks in Congress representing me though, did you?
p.s. I didnt at all insult you, I guess you are admitting the thread is a failure along with your support at its validity..
For what it's worth, I just read his post and I can't believe what it says...
Best response you guys can come up with ha? Attack the poster, not the facts.
Facts are Republicans have elected the first US Senator, the first House rep, dozens upon dozens of minorities to represent us in the Congress, probably more than Democrats have, you guys were all wrong when you proclaimed Michael Steele was "appointed", and you Democrats have NEVER nominated a black to the Supreme Court, nor have you EVER had a black Secretary of State. I could go on and list the first black Ambassador to South Africa, who was Republican, the first black governor, a black Republican of Louisiana, etc, but the point would be lost on those with closed minds full of "Republicans are racist" ideas made up before reading a dispute.
You can ignore reality all you want but indeed, you proclaiming Republicans are racist doesnt make it so, especially when many Republicans helped to elect the first black president, where there isnt a chance in hell you would have voted for a black for president had they been on the R ticket.
The fact that you cant believe what I said means nothing to me. You can stick your head in the sand and ignore facts and reality, but that doesnt change history and it doesnt make you seem willing to discuss into a discussion about FACTS.. You only want to discuss bs threads and attack other posters with nonsense, and then when facts enter into the discussion respond with. "I cant believe it".. Well sucks to be you I guess.

excuse me????
I agreed with another poster and now YOU're attacking me.
I don't think I attacked anyone -- "but thanks for playing!"
Republicans said during the campaign that Obama was a Muslim terrorist. That he was a communist. That he was a Nazi. That he was a radical black Christian. Endless attempts to demonize and dehumanize the man. Claimed he hates America."Pall'd around with terrorists. All that nonsense about flag pins and covering his heart during the national anthem. Racists often believe that non whites are inferior and not their equals. Is it REALLY such a stretch to suggest the Republican base doesn't elect black Republicans because they dislike people who are black and do not feel they're qualified to represent them as a result? Is it really such a stretch to suggest black people are smart enough to figure that out on their own?
I agree with you, smart black men are the good old boys worst nightmare....
-Well, Justice thomas has some strange views to say the least, no normal black person would vote for such an idiot, its not like he is more moderate like say colin powel or even condi.
-Take Alan Keyes for example, he ran for the republicans, I watched the debate and it even seemed like the moderator of the forum was racist to him because for whatever reason he was given less time than all the other candidates to respond to ALL the questions. Its bs like that, that makes a black person say well I guess all my friends were right republicans are racist. mind you alan keyes is no barack obama, but there were alot worse candidates than alan
The moderator of that debate was a Democrat. And she works for a paper that leans democratic. So maybe it democrats that are racist.
Anyway, I voted for Keyes a long time ago. He ran in 88 or 92 and i voted for him. This was long before democrats ever nominated any blacks for president.
guess maybe this proves democrats are really the racist ones.
And what the hell is a "normal black person" sounds like you are steeotyping all blacks as liberals? sounds kind of racist to me to think one must think a certain way because of skin color?
I want to nominate this thread for dumbest topic ever on C-D.
