Well, I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but MOST politicians can be "bought" in the sense I described. Most politicians are terrified of bad press and seek to preserve their jobs. To a large extent, that's just pure human nature.
Goldman Sachs might by negative ads while th unions and General electric buy positive ads. there are so many corporations that are now free to buy ads. the lose is American idol fans who will have more commercials

Why would unions or GE care about about finance industry reform?

You seem to be assuming that every area of legislation contains two equally well-funded sides.

That's really not the case, though.

It's a win for Dems, Repubs and corruption, and a loss for 3rd parties and American voters.

You can call it free speech all you want, but the truth is that guy with the biggest wallet, gets the air-time and the guys with no money get to practise their free speech in the back alleys where no one can hear them.

But now the field is open to all companies. they can go with ads for anyone.They will be responsible to their boards. Can you imagine GE supporting one candidate while UAW backs another . One side will lose and will have to explain why they lost the advertising dollars
Free speech won

You don't get it. They will flood their money to the politicians and parties who promise them most favors. Why do you think the laws were called 'anti-corruption' laws. Because without them, corruption will take over the elections.

Here's a few facts for the doom and gloom crowd;

That said, the various "doomsday" scenarios being floated by critics of the decision, claiming that corporations will dominate American politics with billions of dollars in expenditures, are pure science fiction.

Second, 28 states, holding 60% of the nation's population, already allow corporate and union independent expenditures in state races. Yet none of these states is swamped with corporate and union spending, or dominated by special interests in some way that other states have escaped.

Interesting that conservatives like to label judges "activist judges" when they don't like a decision. This decision was big-time activism - by conservative judges.

This makes elections more of a sham, because, ultimately, the "elected officials" will answer to corporate sponsors and special interest groups. Sure is some incentive to vote, ain't it? Why waste the time? Regardless of what the people want corporate America will be legislating the nation. Why do we need Congress?

Which facility did they take you to for programming? "The Free Speech" facade that this ruling hides behind is smoke and mirrors. Our elections will not be decided by the people. You are celebrating a defeat for our democracy. Money corrupts and big money corrupts big. This is not about free speech, it is about corporations controlling this country.
