The article I read about this story is that they refuse to mention what race the 16 year old kid is, which most likely means that he is not White. If he was White, the authorities would have had absolutely no problem revealing it to the media.
No, WalMart's system is set up so customers *can* request assistance over the PA system. Like I said I don't see any crime here. It's not like someone who was able to hack into an auto dealership computer and cause the alarms to go off.
I didn't say they did that....I was talking about someone reaching over a counter some where when an employee wasn't looking or nearby and taking it upon themselves to announce something they thought was funny to all the shoppers.
In most retail the PA is set up in the phone system, which the general public may not know how to use, so this seems odd to me, and I shop in Walmart, I've never heard a customer make requests over the PA system.

I hadn't heard anything about the kids race but just assumed from the get go it was a stupid prank designed to **** people off and not racially biased. If the little stooge really is black, then its even moreso and they have to up the charges and increase the punishment. That and have a whole lot of very chagrined and hopefully wiser people line up to apologize to Wal Mart for jumping to wild conclusions and making some pretty idiotic accusations. Wal Mart was lax in their intercom security, but who's fault is it if we're becoming a nation of losers and nitwits?
This was the same thing as if some little creep spray painted a swastika on the store's floor and everybody blamed Wal Mart for being anti semitic. Just think a little bit first people.
