I think it is s little funny how upset Raleigh people are getting over this. Wegmans is probably going to open a couple more stores so I'm sure they will cover the whole area.
(I'm not totally clear on the difference between Grand Asia and H-mart...if I've been to Grand Asia, do I need H Mart ?)
I know of a couple of differences just from reading about H Mart. Grand Asia has one brand of kimchi. H mart has at least five different brands, and other types than the standard napa cabbage kimchi.
My objection to the Asian grocers here in the Triangle is that the prepackage the produce. Grand Asia has less prepackaged than the other Asian grocers, including LiMing. But that prepackaging means I have to buy a lot of stuff, when I only want a little. What am I gonna do with 50-60 Thai bird chiles when I only need 10 of them (and that would suffice for two meals for two.) And the ****ake mushroom packages are huge. I'm hoping that H Mart does very little prepackaging in the produce.
I'm also hoping that they carry smaller packages of fresh noodles than Grand Asia (some of the local Asian grocers do, but I'm always suspicious of how long they have been hanging around).

I used to shop at HMart frequently. The store in my former town had someone making kimchi. You could get as much or as little as you would want. When that person was done for the day, it was packaged & put on shelves in a refrigerated case.
And Grand Asia (I'm not totally clear on the difference between Grand Asia and H-mart...if I've been to Grand Asia, do I need H Mart ?)
If the H Mart is like the one I've been to, we will seldom be going to Grand Asia after they open. Much cleaner and odor-free, a bigger selection, and longer store hours. Its like a Harris Teeter of Asian stuff.
Within 3 miles of my house I have 2 Harris Teeters, Walmart Neighborhood market, Fresh Market, Food Lion and Publix. When H Mart opens up they'll be in that grouping as well.
It's crazy.
