I noticed lately that most of the middle aged married people I know are overweight. I googled some stats and found out that within the first 5 years of marriage, people gain almost 30 lbs on average. Why do people get lazy after marriage and stop caring about their health? Don't they find it disgusting to obese?
1) Probably a feeling of "I finished the hunt, why bust my ass more than I need to?"
2) Gaining 30lbs does not necessarily thrust someone into the category of 'obese' if they were rather light to begin with.
I don't blame women for getting fat though. You got your ring, you won. Who are you tryin to impress anymore? Your loser friends? You already Did that at the wedding. Theirs simply no motivation anymore.
That's one of the reasons I dont see myself getting married

oh good grief
You know, many of us don't want to impress anyone BUT our husbands.
I feel so sorry for some of you truly clueless young men

Based on the incredibly low level of critical thinking displayed by this post, I can think of many many more reasons why I don't see you getting married.
There is "some" truth to the fact that couples get happy and lazy. I was at a pool party and one of the girls said "I don't care what I look like anymore - I'm married." Unfortunately it was obvious without her saying it.
Before we get all aboard the women aspect and weight, it happens with men too. My late husband was in shape and after we got married he put on a lot of weight, I cooked healthy and he would eat that, and then go eat a bunch more stuff that was unhealthy. I would try and get him go to the gym with me, but he wouldn't.
I watch what I eat and exercise because how I look is important to ME, and my SO is the same, so we exercise together.

LOL! No man is a "prize" to be "won".
How archaic...assuming all we care about is being Mrs somebody...LOL...!
No it isn't. Half his assets are the prize when she files for divorce. Duh
^^Is it bad that I'm not sure whether or not I'm kidding?^^
