If they make a point to hop outta the vehicle before the car is in park and have a look on their face that aligns with a Mission Impossible face as they sprint around the car to your door, it's usually a good indicator.
ROFL!!!! DH has this look. I have to honest, I HATE sitting there waiting for him to come around and open my door like I'm a princess.
Strangely, I DON'T mind him opening it to get in.
It probably has more to do with me being impatient.
The question was how would you know if your date stopped the car and got out whether he was getting out to open your door or to just kiss you goodnight. If it were your first date you probably wouldn't know. You could always sit there for a moment and see if he open it or is just standing there waiting for you. Otherwise if it is not a first date you should know from his past behavior what he was doing.
I like it very much when a man opens the car door for me or holds open a door so you can go throught first etc. Makes me feel like he is a true gentleman.

LOL! The first time it happened to me (as in opening the door before I got out out) I was completely weirded out. And I agree, it just takes way too long.
why do you sit and wait for someone to open a car door anyway? Unless you're handicapped, open your own door and get out of the vehicle.
It's one of those nice little things that many men like to do for their gals. I am totally able to open doors, but my BF always holds doors for me and lets me enter first. It's one of those little things that he does for me to let me know that I am special. Personally I prefer not to wait for someone to open my car door for me to get out, but getting in - absolutely. If a guy is going to get the door for his gal to get out, he needs to tell her to wait - like the poster above stated. But to sit there and wait, if you don't know, probably not a good idea.
The only way to be sure is to go back in time....before the women's rights movement killed chivalry.
Thank goodness I live where no one killed chivalry.
