False equivalency again. We're comparing structured activities like gaming, with rules, to a toy. A Barbie doll provides and needs no interaction, it's purely a toy. You can play with it, with others if you like, but you are not required too, there's no social or thinking component, which is why only children play with them.

I disagree! When playing with Barbies - you practice social interaction. You also learn about fashion. You need to use your imagination.

I think most men would have the same reaction to woman still playing with Barbies that most women would have to men still playing children's games.

But you are saying that football and baseball are children's games?

I think we disagree on what are "children's" games then. What you see as childish I may see merely as geeky. Also, you have to be baiting me on that line about learning about fashion, lol, almost fell for it.

No - I should have clarified. I don't think that football and baseball are even comparable to the things the OP mentioned in his list. It sounded like Duck was saying that they were.

I'm not trying to bait you - I'm having fun! Of course I was being silly about playing with Barbies. But I think that it doesn't really matter if I'm comparing a toy to a game - it's about maturity. I'm comparing things that are entertaining to children as opposed to things that are entertaining to adults.

Being a football fan might show up on my list of 20 - but playing with Barbies would not.

We also bring board games to play. Last week it was Settlers of Catan (again) and I think a friend of mine got their hands on the Star Trek version so I'm hoping they bring it along this Saturday. Either that or we'll play Risk or Stratego.
There is a Star Trek version of Settlers of Catan!!!

Please excuse me while I go cry for joy and then head to Amazon.

You didn't play Barbies at my house. We had Barbie Olympics, Barbie Ski Resort and Barbie Bank.
