LOL!! Yep, I've heard that slang "connections" for meaning "Do you have an, erm, friend?"

Relax, Plzen. You seem to be taking this very personally for some reason...

So how did your date go?

Another thing I've seen happen (though not every time, obviously, people age differently and health issues can come up at any age) is a very young girl falling for a 40-something because at 40, you're still pretty vibrant...but then 15 years later he's settling into an armchair with CNN and she's just...not. Can cause quite a rift.

Again, stuff happens we can't predict but the chances of aging are pretty much 100% unless you walk in front of a bus.

However, I AM happy for any couple that has found love...it's hard enough to find in this world.

That's one way to look at it. I have a feeling you might "take it personally" if I made similar sweeping negative generalizations about women. I should hope you would, anyway.

As expected, which is well. (It wasn't a first date, so no real uncertainty.) Thanks.

I just don't understand that mindset. Aren't there plenty of horny-as-hell divorced ladies their own age, or is it just that those women aren't enough of an egotistical security blanket for them???

I had an older gentleman tell me yesterday, "If I were 35 years younger, I'd swoop you up!" He is 70yrs old. His wife was standing right besides him, she laughed, did this , and called him a flirt. They came to this tourist trap to celebrate their 50th anniversary.

I thought it was cute and not at all creepy.

but why do you have to date women your own age? Is that written in stone somewhere, that i simply missed or is this the one rule who everyone should follow just because. Women are most attractive when they are young, and most guys of any age WANT to date them. Some dont, but it is more often not because thats not what they WANT, but because they CANT. People are free to date anyone they wish and who cares what their age or status is. I think no differently of a man who dates women 15 years younger than him or a man who dates women 15 years his senior.

Nobody "has to" date anyone. This thread is about when much older (according to the OP, 20-ish years older) men hit on younger women, and how we feel about it.

Yes, you can hit on younger women. Here is how we feel about it; see above.

The OP specifically defines it as starting at 10 years older.

No, he says he has "heard of" men approaching women "10 years and much older" and then goes on to specify his actual question:

So do you women get guys much older and close to your father's age flirting or asking you out in person?
