They sure like to date us though.

I have seen also other studies about number of prefering masturbation over sex going up. That is natural. Thinking about society and men and women today, it is all natural now. This it what it comes. And I think that is great! People can choose to not having sex with a partner also. Absolytely great!

No sex with another person who loves you. No love at all, no companionship. Isn't the modern world great. Hasn't modern society made life so much better? lol.

Well, if you think how more than half the world is living in the dark ages and the developing Countries like Brazil and Argentina are the havens of drug cartels, prostitution rings and what not, you can bet anything you want that life is pretty good in the western world. You don't need love. There is no such thing anyway. Take away sexual desire and the sexes wouldn't interact with each other.

Like many other times when American news report on foreign countries it is somewhat based on myth. Unmarried Japanese are not having less sex than before, in fact they are having more sex. While more people were married in the past, sexless marriages have been common for a long time.

Maybe they have always been this way?

There are of course many who don't get married or are in a relationship, but have you guys taken a look at your own country. You may be up for a suprise.

The low fertility rate and low marriage rate in Japan is mostly due to
1. Inflexible working conditions. Women feel they have to sacrifice work for family
2. Little support for working mums
3. Men are doing too little housework
4. Women are too concerned about income. Not everyone can marry rich husbands.
5. The tradition that women run the household finances. Men want more financial independence.

And this is happening all across east asia, not just Japan. Employers in those countries need to stop thinking a good employee, is an employee who work lots of overtime. It is easy for a single man/woman to work long hours. However for working mums they have to neglect their children to do that. Also, men need to do more housework and there needs to be more support for working mums.

Once they get that, then the fertility rate and marriage rate in Asia will increase.

I found it odd that the media was so quick to equate decreasing marriage rates and childbirth rates with decreasing amounts of sex. They must not realize that Japan has contraceptives, too.

Japan is still a very conservative country in a sense so that is probably why this gets blown out way out of proportion.
