Easy - they don't give a fack about being rejected and just go for what they want.

So I guess that is the better advice to give the OP rather than tell him to dress some special way and have a magical career or to smile more.

Online dating is a fantastic option...if you're a woman. For men it is just awful. Incredibly one sided

There are a couple singles meet up groups near my place specifically about dating but I feel that I'm going to go there and find nothing but unattractive/overweight women and women in their 30s, 40s and 50s

Give it a shot and find out. I've never done it but it sounds like it would be worth looking into, at least everyone there wants something similar out of it.

.. based on first hand experience or based on all these hear and says.

I can tell you that many of my not-so-attractive guy friends found their love on match.com Believe me it works. Why don't you give it a try, you have nothing to lose really.

Edit: I am not implying that you are not attractive. Sorry.

The op is too self conscious for that advise. I am not telling op to dress a special way as advised to dress his age and body type. And to make sure that his career is on track. Those are advise everyone should follow.

I have. I had a well written profile and pictures that people said I looked very cute/handsome in

I got rejected on every attempt messaging girls who I felt were about the same attractiveness level (or less) than myself. I sent genuine messages using stuff about their profile but it didn't make any difference

Leave your profile up. If people say you look cute, someone will message you eventually. Sometimes these things take time. The right person has to come along.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome

If I messaged 50 women who had no interest in me, why would the next 50 feel any different? And I'm not bitter at all. Online dating is incredibly one sided as I said - I'm sure that the women I messaged all receive a couple hundred messages a day. You have to be the absolute top of the top of the top of the top in OLD to get anywhere as a man
