I've been to Tijuana and am, shall we say, "familiar" with the ladies there.

What I want to know is how she doesn't run out of hot water in 30 minutes? What kind of hot water heater does she have? Or is it one of those units that heats the water as it passes through?

If they charge you a variable fee for water, make her pay proportionally for it. Otherwise, I wouldn’t worry about it until they actually hold big ag to the same cutbacks as residential.

For real. Mine would tap out long out before that.

OP. I'd call it a red flag to get that sort of response. However, she's probably like that about a lot of other things which I'm guessing you already knew about. Either deal with it or bail.

She's probably leaving the shower water running while taking a dump.

a bath uses more water than a 10-minute shower, but not longer

I can't imagine being in my 40s and having someone tell me how long I can take for a shower. She's probably been taking 30-60 minute showers most of her life and the only way she's going to change is if she decides she wants to, not because you tell her to.

My showers are usually 20 minutes, but that's the bare minimum. Someone else said 10 minutes. No way I can shower in 10 minutes. I shave my legs and underarms and wash my hair in the shower. My hair is thick and it takes some time to get it all wet and then after shampooing it takes some time to get all the shampoo out. I don't use conditioner, but if I did that would take even more time.

Pretty easy, actually. You don't need the water running when you're shaving or shampooing your hair or scrubbing your body anymore than you need the water running when you're brushing your teeth. Install a Navy shower head and it's pretty easy to shower in 2-3 minutes if you're so inclined. It's really not that relevant. Domestic water use is only about 8-9% of total clean water withdrawals anyway. You'd make a much bigger difference by changing diet and eating less meat and dairy than by taking quicker showers.
