I'm so sorry to hear about your bun Chow. It's so easy to deeply love your pets since they're so affectionate and love you unconditionally. You can always be sure about their love for you. I can see why the loss of your bun created a big void in your heart.

Thank you for the kind words. We've left all of her stuff out, toys, beds, food bowl. I think it's time to start to put some of her stuff away. It's a balance of feeling like you're not "throwing her away" versus the practical aspects of realizing that her food bowl being out isn't going to bring her back. I feel like with her stuff sitting around that she's somehow going to come back, like she was just simply at the vet and now she's back home.
What are you going to do? Life has upset and sadness sometimes. Just have to solider on as I know time makes things a little better.
Oh, Chow, I'm so sorry for you and the missus when it comes to the death of your sweet bunny. The only real downside to pets, to loving anyone or anything, is the eventuality of their loss and the hole that leaves behind. A wise friend of mine once told me that that empty hole left behind by someone's absence or death can often be filled in due time with all of the good memories that you have of that person or pet. The memories can ache, but they can be a comfort, too.
Wishing you both love and healing. You'll know when it's time to put away her things. Grieve however you need to grieve.
Thank you all so much for the condolences. We miss her a lot. Here's a picture of her from my profile album. As it's captioned there, we call it her "over-the-shoulder glamour pose," aka her "Audrey Hepburn."

Anyway, we know so many people who are going through bad times right now, so I'm just wishing the best for everyone. I don't know, after this past year it just seems like everyone feels a little battered. The last thing we need right now is to be piled up on. Just trying to enjoy the Saturday...

Sweet bunny, Sea (and Chow) You were lucky to have each other.
A year into this whole situation, it seems like people are hanging by a thread. Everyone is tired and snippy. Someone on the local news said that it's like being stuck in traffic--you know that your destination is just down the road, but you can't get there yet and you don't know what the holdup is.

Thank you, fleetie.
