Has anyone been following this story about Jeff Bezos' new super yacht that is supposed to require having a bridge in Rotterdam dismantled in order to pass through?
In the meantime, his ex wife Mackenzie has given away over $4Billion to charity.

I know this will probably get written off as a rant of a “typical liberal millennial” but it is actions like that of why “Taxing the Rich” will always be a popular thought. Just the idea of taking down a bridge that as outlived you many times over to fit a toy through it is infuriating.
My Monday morning was sort of a drag. I've been spoiled on working from home so much lately. I had to visit a project site in West Hollywood this morning, and for those that don't know, the traffic in and around that part of town is awful, not to mention it's a hour plus drive for me, but other than that as much as Monday's are a drag, they for some reason tend to go sort of quick, at least for me.

Meh, as long as he's paying for it I suppose. Plenty of times you hear about these uber rich people or corporations getting sweetheart deals from cities ands states, Football stadiums and the like come to mind. Tax payers end up funding a lot of this crap, but whatever, I digress. Don't want to rant too much on a Monday.
Valentine's Day isn't a huge holiday between my partner and I, but darned if I didn't find the perfect gift for him today purely by chance. I'm excited to give it to him--especially as he gave me already gave me my (both unexpected and perfect) gift.
That bit of serendipity plus the pure joy of being out on the road headed to and from a job site were the highlights of my Monday.

It shows to me, how people are ever-evolving and learning from experiences as they grow older. Two people married and living together, finding themselves not only incompatible and no longer finding common goals, but opposites now in all directions.
Been there, done that.
More than once.
I wish I would’ve known I didn’t need to be part of a pair. I only was for a few short years, the rest was wasted just …trying to be.

Indeed, so true. I say, better to be alone than with the wrong one.
I recently read that Mackenzie married a high school chemistry teacher.

I need to cancel my Amazon Prime, because it bugs me to think my money is going to Bezos' yacht and space playground and not to the Amazon warehouse workers who are peeing in bottles because they can't take breaks and who are not getting paid a living wage.

I dunno. My son just started working for Amazon, in a warehouse. They now pay all of their employees $15, minimum, per hour, more for higher cost of living places (supposedly) and they are paying my son $17.55 after his night shift differential.
He's been late, he's had to leave early... He is the son who struggles to hold any job and who is kind of frankly unreliable, and they have not fired him yet. He's getting cut more slack than I ever did at an entry level job when I was a young person in that employment market.
I was very surprised when he worked at Walmart at how accommodating they were to him, too. I think that both companies had a similar thing happen. It gets out into the media that they are brutal and inhumane employers, the threat of unionization arises, and they scurry to placate everyone by changing their policies all of a sudden before the stock prices completely tank out.
I don't kid myself...I know they're damn sure not gonna do such things out of the kindness of their hearts.
But Amazon got walloped with bad PR (rightly so) after that warehouse collapse killed a bunch of people.

We've stop using Amazon a few years back.
I'll admit it, it's one heck of a good service, but I want to give my money to smaller more independent people. Vendors on Ebay and Etsy are good places to give money to smaller mom and pop organizations. There are others but off the top of my head those come to mind.

Your point stands about the yachts though.
Yeah it’s kind of a struggle for me. I know Amazon treats their workers crappy. However, the benefits are actually pretty decent and they have hired a lot of my friends who, love them, but I would not be running to my recruiting team to put in a referral for them as someone who is the recruiting specialist for my department.
Also, they are really good as a retailer with handling complaints and getting products to me quickly.
