Here in Iowa, a carton will now cost you about 70 bucks. Just think what else you could do with that money. They raised the tax here a year ago big time and now with the new tax, it's insane what they cost. They also made it a state wide ban in most public places. Casinos you can still smoke, but the one closet to where we live has a non-smoking section which is really nice. No more smoking in restaurants, which is awesome in my book. This is the only good thing about this craptastic state. Hoping Wisconsin will do this by the time we get to move back.

I smoked over 10 years ago, but not heavy. I never smoked at work. My first one of the day was after dinner. Weekends were a tad different, but not that much. I got a bad cold and didn't smoke for the 2 weeks I was sick. Never started back up. Hubby quit shortly after that. I don't think I ever smelled as I smell some smokers. I usually will say in my quiet voice, "have another smoke" as I pass and smell them.

CPG, great post.

hA!!!There are already threads with some people promoting that we tax to death "fat" people by way of taxes on fast food.Start with one,and the nanniers never finish.

As far as bong,I don't smoke weed, but I'm all for legalization.I don't want to smell the smoke, but I won't friggin complain if a person smells of MJ including a girlfriend.

I'm a former smoker (quit in Dec '01 but cheated a few times over 4 months so officially '02) and I can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke on people either but to direct this only at women who smoke?

I can't deal with perfumes either - or those stores that have a bunch of potpourri and/or scented candles. They put my sinuses into overdrive and they just kill me!

Yet I deal with the smell if I pass somebody,I don't say things to them, and I'm not trying to ban perfume based on it annoying me.People against cigarettes do.

Smoking can be sexy.

Smoking tobacco is not, though.

I don't say anything to people who smoke. I just steer clear of them. But, I rarely run across a smoker anymore.

Some people just have to p*** and moan about something. I think they're control freaks who are on their down time so they're looking for something/someone to control. Seriously, not trying to be facetious.
