I never got the age excuse. How many people go around looking at a 80 or 90 year old woman's body? Her skin will be wrinkled and loose at that age. If she had no tattoo you mean to tell me you would gaze lovingly at her exposed flesh, but if there were a tattoo there you'd be repulsed?

How many senior citizens run around in low rider jeans and a belly shirt? If you see that regularly, trust me it doesn't happen much outside of your trailer park. By that age they wear muu-muus (sp?) and the like.

If you don't like tattoos, just say so instead of using weak, regurgitated excuses to justify it.

Why do women cover their breasts if they are so great?

Very good point indeed!

I like some tattoos and some I don't.

Some people look good with tattoos and some people don't.

When I was single, some gals I dated had tattoos and some did not.

The world would be an excruciatingly boring place if we all looked the same.

I think it's wonderful that people who want to get tattoos can do so while others can choose not to have a tattoo.

Freedom means freedom for everyone.

(That's my take on tattoos)

Good post!

I used to not like tattoos, until I dated a guy who had one. I didn't even know he had a tattoo until we slept together and he took his shirt off (it was the middle of winter at the time, no reason to strip unless sex was involved). After the time we'd spent getting to know each other on the inside, it didn't matter to me what was on the outside. Several months later, he got a second tattoo in memory of a good friend who was killed in Iraq. The only problem I had with the second tattoo was that I didn't think it was big enough, and should have been higher on his arm. I think he'll probably get a few more before he's done, but even if we were still together, the tats wouldn't bother me.

My current bf has a tattoo as well and is also talking about getting more.

I don't have one, but I'm not opposed to getting one if there was a special reason for it, one that I wouldn't regret later. A few of my girlfriends have tattoos, all are tasteful and none are visible when they wear shorts/t-shirts except one who has an ankle tattoo.

Have fun, don't be afraid, if you want to do something do it and stop being a damn prude you only have one life to live.
I don't want any tattoos, but I'm so happy to read your opinion on this subject and dang, I can't give you any rep - but I would if I could!

There is some hope for the younger generation...thank God.

As does mine. It's insanely tiny though...on his foot and you'd never know it was there unless you knew to look for it.

Mine too. Though I would never get one, I certainly wouldn't call them a dealbreaker for friendships...certainly not. But the ones that are so large and are impossible to ignore...I really scratch my head over those. But as I said, to each their own.

Can't believe there's this many people who still find this taboo-ish

So you're cool with women covered head to toe in tatoo's, but you have a problem with them wearing make-up?

I find the tramp stamps, sleeves, and full on body art to be unattractive. Something small and subtle on the ankle, hip, waist is ok. Resembling a human comic book is not attractive to me at all. Makes them look like strippers or porn stars.

I don't think I see many strippers or porn stars with tattoos from head to toes.
