I had a lady, who had HIV, say that she will not tell her boyfriend that she had it. She said she been together for a while and planning for marriage.
Its unfortunate, but a lot of people are not upfront because of fear of consequences until they know they have you. Its a sad part of life.
I have a few friends who go to Bars and are always picking up women.
One friend will pick up a different woman every Friday night. If he goes to a bar and does not pick up a woman that night he will feel like a failure. The funny thing is he sees the same people in the bar every weekend. If he sees someone he had picked up before he will act like they are invisible and he is only interested in someone he has not met before.
I ask him if he is ill at ease being so close physically and emotionally with someone he has never met. We all know how hard it is to talk to people we do not know well. Then it should be so much more difficult having sexual and romantic relations with someone who we do not really know.
Are you ill at ease the first time you try to get sexual or romantic with someone new?
If he is sleeping with all of the people he picks up I hate to think of the crotch crickets he must be picking up from all of his escapades, ICK!!. Crabs, herpes, AIDS, HPV, Gonorrhea, syphilis, and who knows what else. Condoms are not 100% reliable.

Why do I suspect that he's probably not even using a condom?

40,000 people die each from car accidents. Does that mean you should avoid cars?
Also as far as HIV transmission goes, you should really look at the statistics (from CDC).
Transmission category for persons living with HIV, 2003
Race/ethnicity of persons living with HIV, 2003
My conclusion is that if you are not gay, not black, not engaging in high risk sexual behavior (ie. using condoms for every sexual act) and not having sexual relations with high risk people (drug users) then you are relatively safe.

You're right, his chances of getting HIV are not too high but HPV is running rampant right now and condoms do not always prevent the spread. Yuck!
If a person told you they had HIV would still have sex with them using a Condom?... think about it, I think being a reponsible sexual partner takes all the "casuality " out of a sexual encounter,
ROTFLMFAO!!! Pardon my French, jeeeez. I choked over that one.
God me too!! That was hilarious!!!
