manners unattractive? NEVER!
growing up in a time when women are to be treated equal to men, i never expected men to open doors for me etc. but they do! i still don't ever expect it from anyone, and i find more and more that they just do it. and i thank them for it! these are strangers i am speaking of, and i find i often gain a bot of respect for them
Do you find manners...saying please and thank you, opening doors, pulling out chairs etc. attractive, or a sign of weakness?
I pay attention to such things and consider it a plus if people do that. But I've noticed many people say thank you just because they feel they have to, not because they mean it. So I also pay attention to how they say it. But I would definitely not see good manners as a sign of weakness. Only an insecure person would think that.

I ride the train often in the winter because of the weather, and it always impresses me when a man offers me his seat. I'm a modern gal, and I don't expect it, nor do I need it, (and I don't usually accept the seat,) but it's nice to be asked, you know?
Manners are a must. Something I can't stand is when I walk by another individual, say "hey" and they ignore me.
1. Yes/no sir Yes/no ma'am.
2. Opening the door for a women or holding it open for another person.
3. Elbows off the table.
4. Speaking loudly and clearly when talking.
5. Speak when you're spoken too.
So a child who has been abused by an adult should always stand when that adult comes in the room? I doubt Emily Post would be able to answer that easily.
As with other social conventions you need to investigate them fully and see if they make sense. From what I've seen around me for the last few decades, MANY people are deciding that these "rules" don't fit into their lives, for whatever reason.
But for the OP's question, no - I don't see them as weaknesses.
