OPEN letter from the red letter christians---to Ms. Davis...

Some of your supporters have compared you to Rosa Parks. But the difference between Ms. Parks and yourself is very much like the difference between the early Christians and Saul. Ms. Parks and the early church had conviction without social power; you (like Saul) have conviction backed by a position of power. (That other powers are currently challenging your authority simply means that you live, like all of us, in the world after Babel where God’s grace permits no one absolute power.) - See more at: Letter to a Carter County Jail | Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove | Red Letter Christians

I don't give her that much credit. She's a tool of Liberty Counsel, who desperately need to keep her in jail for as long as possible so as to make her more of a "martyr." Most of us don't see her as anything like that, but it's red meat to the fundies.

Even the hideous Westboro folks USE the law to their advantage to promote their hateful message...I actually found this article rather
telling as to what's going on..Non-politicians/elected officials use the law..

Politicians or elected official right up laws to strike down a boatload of civil rights for other's..THEN we have an ELECTED official defy the law to promote a message!! Kind of makes me smile ..AS it's just so transparent..both by such a group ( Westboro Baptist Hateful family) and elected politicians passing so many bills and legislation to undermine "Civil Liberties" I'm betting more SCOTUS rulings will be deciding some of these transparent legislation effort in the future

That is what the Bible teaches. It teaches a lot of backwards things.

And the only reason she is in contempt of court is because of her faith. Her religious beliefs are still at the center and she has been punished for not willing to go against them. Surely the judge had the brains to know what kind of message that jailing a person for their Christian faith would send to Christians in America, but they did it anyways. Couldn't do something less controversial like place her on furlough or something. No, let's give her the most extreme punishment.

No, that's how secularism works. It has no respect for religious freedom. If a new law is created then it's put up or shut up with your side. Yet when the laws don't favor your position, it's protest city like the defense of marriage act.

Leviticus 24:19-20 God Himself speaking in these verses Further, it is not a suggestion to "maybe" practice this, it is a requirement.

Opposing view:

Matt. 5:38-39 Jesus speaking and referring to the OT quote not as a "message from God," but as "heresay."

Jesus' radical teaching in opposition to OT commands is a permanent part of His message and stands against repeated OT narratives of God action or sanctioning of violence. It is quite significant that James and John wanted to follow the precedent of Elijah and call "fire from heaven" to destroy a Samaritan village. Jesus rebuked them and told them, "You do not know what spirit you are of," (Luke 9:54-55 vs 2nd Kings 12:14). He basically claimed their spirit was ungodly if not demonic.

God grew--you have not.
God grew? Wow, what a incredible distortion of the truth. God never changes and I'm thankful for that. If God is constantly evolving and changes His morals, how can you have any security? What if God one day in eternity decides to kick us all out of heaven huh?

Jesus radical teachings in opposition to the OT commands was to demonstrate that His sacrifice made the Old Convent null and void. If you can't grasp this basic concept then you really know NOTHING about the Bible.

So is she not His child or is God wrong to demand faithfulness to one's vows? Are you now justifying breaking vows one has made by placing their hand on a Bible?
You don't know the spiritual condition of her heart any more than you know mine. Of course you support her being jailed. You always support anything that goes against Christianity.

Add "civics" to the long list of things about which you have utterly, absolutely no clue whatsoever. I swear to god, this is like a "Saturday Night Live" skit or something.

Do you have an actual point beside the tired old I lack education routine? It's not impressive in the least.

Actually, no she was cited for contempt because as the face of country government, she placed the government in the position of denying the constitutional rights of its citizens.

Oh the judge most definitely understood the message that holding Ms. Kim in contempt would send to some Christians in America, which is why she went to jail instead of being fined, fines the judge knew full well she would not have to pay herself.

This is what you and folks like yourself keeping getting wrong here. Secularism is about not allowing the government, and Ms Davis is the government, from imposing religious beliefs upon the citizens.
