The job would have taken 500 years with Noah and all...10?... All ten (I think) sons working. So with Noah that's 11 people or 5,500 man years if one individual were to build the Ark. I do not know how long the sons lived individually, but if each did not live at least about 475 years, Noah would have had to make up the time slack. Either working his entire life to complete it, or passing before it was finished.
Could you imagine the taxes if they had medicaid back then, and everyone was eligible at 65 or so?
Some of Ark Encounter was constructed using steel i-beams and concrete cinder blocks for internal structural support. I wouldn't count on it being too seaworthy.
But the residents of Grant County would likely weigh far less than two Elephants, T-Rex's, Water Buffalo's, Hippos, etc. So if Noah did his flotation calculations better than his time allotment...Just Sayin...
I hope the cafeteria is Vegetarian and does not serve any animal products, or attendees will be eating animals on the Ark...
I actually have mixed emotions on the Ark. On one hand, what a folly... a $100 Million Dollar Theistic Behemoth built in the middle of Kentucky. What on EARTH were they thinking??? And I thought the Canadians were nuts for spending 17 Million to rebuild the Grand Banks Schooner "Bluenose"... (On the face of older Canadian dimes).
On the other hand, it's rather impressive, the Largest Timber Frame Structure In the World!!
A comment on one of the Youtube videos states it would likely be financially successful if it were turned into a Casino and Strip Joint. That may be true, but what does it say about mankind? I don't think going the Sodom and Gomorrah route's the answer.
Although Grant County might finally see the revenue numbers they were expecting with a new salt mine, and at the same time it would cut down on the numbers of an arguably less than savory segment of the population...
Yes, plenty...but it would be a waste of time giving it to you.
There is no mention of how many people....other than ol' Noah.
Their names were Ham, Shem, and Japheth. That's 3 is it not? Noah's wife and the sons' wives are not named, so assuming monogamy that's 8 people. Maybe the wives helped with the ark building?
So it was just the FOUR of them in construction...?
Plus wives.
