How was the water contained? Rock, at least the rock which makes up the earth's crust, doesn't float. The water would have been forced to the surface long before Noah's time, or Adam's time for that matter.
Even a mile deep, the earth is boiling hot, and thus the reservoir of water would be superheated. Further heat would be added by the energy of the water falling from above the atmosphere. Noah would have been poached.

You ever seen what rain can do?
Earth temps, water temps, Melting icecaps?
Boil some water, mix it with ice cold water.... walla.. you get luke warm. It's a miraculous element
Open your mind and heart to the possibility, that "All things are possible" with our Father in Heaven. He can multiply water, heat water, cool water, freeze water, or vaporize water.
He is not bound to man's view of physical norms. He is "ALL powerful".
So when you get to mocking how wonderful His powers are, you only make yourself to be ignorant of your creator, and put yourself in the high seat of pride.

I am not mocking God here, and your "God can do anything" statement holds no water with me. You hold to your myths, that's fine, it seems for many people, but I prefer to exist in the real world.
How am I prideful? You with your imaginary friends cannot even hint that maybe, just possibly you may be wrong. Is that not pride, or is it called arrogance?

So God is an energy, plain a simple, no miracle. Is this so hard to believe? Why assign arms and legs and everlasting love to "energy"?
BTW, sitting an the couch and farting is a miracle too, ya know.
Thanks Sanspeur for the info, I knew I had read something along those lines before.I actually have the story of Gilgamesh somewhere in my own collection...might read it again with Dr Noah in mind. How historical events influenced mythology is very interesting to me.
MontanaGuy, glad you caught my little jab with the u in hmour. Fully aware of how you guys spell it and yes we have the English spelling here.
Dr Noah lives on!!! I think I saw another person call him that.

The beginning of humility is recognizing one's creator and then comprehending the awesomeness of Him.

While I absolutely respect your right to believe what you do, it amazes me that time and again when faced with an intellectual arguement christians invariably do the written equivalent of putting their hands over their ears and shouting "I'm not listening, I'm not listening" the above is a perfect example of what I'm saying.
