No doubt a committed atheist from the beginning.

Then give me the answer, stop playing the little games. Give me your FACTS!!

And you know what they say about assuming.
I have asked you for other facts besides the Universe, you just keep going back to it. What other FACTS and ANSWERS do you have?

You don't come off as an honest skeptic.

I really don't appreciate your apparent insincerity.

Moving on.............

c'ese la vie
"Either God exists.........

........or He doesn't.

One is true, the other is not."
And if you were to see your particular version of "God", how would you know it wasn't a product of your own imagination, and even if it wasn't a product of your imagination how would you know it was the "God" as opposed to some other phenomena or thing. To believe or not in "God", whichever version you pick, is a product of your thoughts, and thus cannot be completely correct. Why does "God" have to exist or not exist? That is a bit black and white. Maybe to one person, "God" is "real" to them, am I to deny them their experience? To another person, "God" isn't "real", am I to deny them their experience? You say one has to be completely true and that version of truth as being the only real truth. To a Christian, if you aren't a Christian, and don't believe in the Christian "God" you are going to hell. To a muslim, you if don't believe in Allah and follow the Koran, you are going to hell. And to a communist leader, if you don't believe in their particular brand of socialism, they will force it on you. And you aren't allowed the free practice of religion because all religion is evil to them. And people kill in order to prove their particular version of the truth because they believe they are 100% right and everyone else is completely wrong.

"Modern science very strongly points toward a beginning of our known universe and, as well, very strongly points toward it's ultimate end"
Actually from what I have seen of the astronomical and physics related arguments/data, science points to the birth and deaths of many universes with supermassive blackholes at their centers. And we have yet to see the end with our telescopes. The general consesus regarding the ultimate fate of the universe has yet to be decided by the scientific establishment. The distance between solar systems is observed to be increasing based on the observed redshifts. Any end or beginning to the universe is based mainly on that. Nor have scientists been able to determine whether the universe will keep expanding or whether it will experience an eventually contraction. Dark matter and dark energy are 2 puzzles yet to have been adequately explained, which are considered to effect the expansion rate of the universe. So whether there is any final end or whether it goes on in some way forever cannot be determined by the current scientific understanding of the universe.

I do not believe in the great flood, talking burning bush, Adam and Eve, garden of Eden. Old testament, New testament seems like two different Gods, or was he just bi-polar?

I agree. Inconsistency is a problem.
The fact that life has random events is a problem.
The fact we don't see or hear any god is a problem.
The fact that good people, animals are hurt, tortured, etc. is a problem.

I have a problem with the loving god. What about birth anomalies, animals tortured for fun, prisoners of war, cancer, heartbreak, kidnapped children? This is their god's love.

The cold emptiness of space makes more sense.

Why question the poster's sincerity?
He/she has continued to work with the responses on here.
I see no reason to go into that.

Having read the entire thread, I'm disappointed at the argumentative bent it has taken at times. It's a brave question. And the only answer I can offer, that makes any sense to me, is a short list of empirical data that I discovered years ago:

In the beginning
Good always overpowered the evils
Of all mans sins.......
But in time the nations grew weak
And our cities fell to slums
While evil stood strong
In the dusts of hell
Lurked the blackest of hates
For he whom they feared
Awaited them.......
Now many many life times later
Lay destroyed, beaten, beaten down,
Only corpses of rebels
Ashes of dreams
And blood-stained streets.......
It has been written
Those who have the youth
Have the future
So come now children of the beast
Be strong
And shout at the devil

Are you still at it with the convince me thing? I just have a question, why do you need to be convinced? Either you want to believe in God, or you want to stay agnostic.

What is the deeper issue of you wanting to be convinced? What are you searching for God? I'm asking a serious question, and I'm not being smart or making a joke.
