Both June and July have been pretty mild this year. We have had some heat waves but also periods of cooler more mild weather.

Las Vegas - 105F - On a night flight from Vegas to Sacramento in the summer, folks were saying how hot it was in Sacramento......that it was "as hot as Vegas most of the time"...of course, I disagreed....and then we landed and it was in the mid 60's in Sacramento.... with a strong Delta Wind....Loved it.....while Vegas was still in the 90's.

This morning along with Seattle & Portland, Sacramento is the Coolest on the West Coast and in the West, even Cooler than San Francisco!

Sacramento is 35 degrees Cooler than Phoenix, and 34 degrees Cooler than Las Vegas!


Sacramento - 58F - Feels like temp

Portland - 58F
Seattle - 58F

San Francisco - 61F
San Diego - 63F
Denver - 65F
Chico State College - 67F
Albuquerque - 67F

Fresno - 70F
Salt Lake City - 77F

Las Vegas - 92F
Phoenix - 93F

I would never live in Vegas or Phoenix. Anyways making use of my pool a lot for fitness and cool off and not having to run the A/C much is great.

@Chim, I do not drink much alcohol but I did spend time after work in the pool a lot this weekend and week! Then before bedtime, I rinse off in cold shower and run whole house fan most of the night. Less expensive than run the A/C all day and night too!

I post because I'm still amazed we never talk about theses distinctions about Sacramento weather. It's easily overlooked when you only focus on the high temp for the day....."oh it was in high 90's/100 today" without taking into account the many hours of comfortable and not only comfortable but COOL HOURS we actually experience every summer day.
