Does anyone know what is going in next to the 54th Street Brew Pub and Grill next to the old Mama's Cafe and the Burger King on Pat Booker in Live Oak? It looks like they might be clearing the land for another restaurant. Also just curious if the China Seas Buffet on Thousand Oaks was closed. Went by there one day on a weekend ,don't recall the time but there was nobody there. Also I've seen the ads for ElBucanero the mexican seafood restaurant at Embassy Row on tv,and the outside they show looks like it was a chinese buffet once.It might have been another China Seas but I don't know.

Yes. It was once a Ryan's Steakhouse, then a China Seas. And possibly a sports bar, IIRC.

Cristan's tacos on San Pedro closed a few weeks ago, it had been there for almost 50 years.

That's sad. It wasn't good but the nachos were cheap and easy to grab for lunch if you worked in the area.

Taste of China buffet on Ironside (Colonies North) seems to be closed. Recall going back in the late 90's....that's a pretty good run given the number of simiiar places.

Funny thing is I would stop for carne guisada tacos or nachos and didn't try anything else, supposedly they sold the land. Now have to drive further to Blanco Café, any recommendations Ash for tacos downtown?
