If I'm not mistaken, we're talking about inside 1604, north of culebra.

yes, the NE quadrant of the 1604/Culebra intersection. That giant park is going to be on the NW quadrant (somehow). Sure seems like there's too much development over there to support a park.
unless they're going to blow up walmart

Yea a park with a big ole' ugly tin looking Wal-Mart as it's marker sure isn't great planing. Even if the W-Mart is 100 yds away a Wal-Mart within view is pathetic. Sounds like poor urban development.

I still haven't figured anything out about the section in question. I have driven by there a few times already, but never see anyone out working....could be because of the weekend, but even today that area seemed desolate.

nrlatsha, there's actually two conversations going on about the area. I asked in post 824 what was going to be built inside 1604 where they are clearing alot of land across from Wal-Mart. Several people have responded saying they think it's a park. Others houses, apartments, or a shopping center. At this point it is anyone's guess.

The topic is getting mixed in with the proposed Sports Park that would extend the current Culebra Creek park to the Alamo Youth Soccer fields on FM 1560 and incorporate some land N.W. of Wal-Mart. This is supported by the .pdf link. See post #850 or #855.

I believe there was only one conversation regarding the area inside the loop. But people keep replying about the westwood sports complex. Thats old news from months/years ago. That PDF hasn't been updated in a very long time.

We're trying to put a finger on whats north of Walgreens/Wells Fargo. We're all quite aware of the park/sports complex on Westwood, might as well tell us there's a Lowes going in somewhere around here...

Now the city does own quite a bit of land inside the loop, north of Walgreens/Fargo, but there's another plot owned by HRS partnership, that's where they're currently building, or thats where it looks like they are building.
