Some random facts:
It’s not clear where the gunman obtained his weapons.
There is no age restriction on possessing guns in Texas, but you have to be 21 or older to carry a concealed handgun without a license under the permitless carry law that went into effect last September.
And it’s generally not legal to carry a handgun on K-12 public school property, though one Republican lawmaker sought to make that possible for licensed adults in the last session of the Texas legislature.
There are no specific state law restrictions on carrying a rifle.

And no, I couldn't find much info about anyone wounded.
Just this:
"Uvalde Memorial Hospital spokesperson Tom Nordwick earlier said that two people died in the school shooting and that 13 children and a man in his 40s were being treated for injuries.

University Hospital in San Antonio said in a tweet that they received a child and an adult from the school shooting. The adult, a 66-year-old woman, is in critical condition, the hospital said in a tweet."

A Border Patrol agent who was nearby when the shooting began rushed into the school without waiting for backup and shot and killed the gunman, who was behind a barricade.

The tragedy in Uvalde was the deadliest school shooting in Texas history, and it added to a grim tally of mass shootings in the state that have been among the deadliest in the U.S. over the past five years.

Pretty sure the count is now 18 children and 3 teachers. His grandmother who was the first person that got shot is still alive. She might be flying into a San Antonio hospital? Can't remember if I read that last part or not.

Just saw the post before me. Guessing the 66 year old adult is his grandmother.

God bless him, wish he could've arrived sooner but God bless him nonetheless.

I am glad that border patrol agent was there and did what he did. Who knows what the final count would have been otherwise.....

Notice how many law enforcement officers, on duty and not, who rush in to help? Scott Peterson, the Broward Coward is a rare exception who deserves the condemnation that is aimed at him.

Considering Uvalde police had active shooter drills a couple of months prior at the high school there, I am surprised things went the way it did. I would have hoped for a better outcome than what happened.

I would have hoped so also!

As of this morning, the narrative that explains why the Uvalde Police Department recent shooter drills did not make the difference early on is explained as:

1. It appears that the school security officer and the local police who first arrived on the scene were all OUTGUNNED in terms of the perpetrator's firepower.

2. In addition, the perp outfoxed all of the early on response via the heavy & protective body armor he wore.
It took the later arrival of a tactical unit to take him down.

And that folks, is the sad set of facts as to how and why it came down that way.

See the details of the recent shooting in Buffalo to find the similar set of firepower & body armor circumstances.
