Right, alot of what we have is related to the weather.
Outdoor malls for example, apart from strip malls and outlets, I never heard of such a thing until I came here and went to Mission Valley/Fashion Valley mall.

Parks with no or little night time lighting, this is again because the temps are pleasant enough during the day that visiting a park in the evening isn't a necessity.

If you flip the question for somewhere like Phoenix or Dallas, I wonder what they would say other than jobs and family.

Yeah, I really like the DC area for some reason. It's one of those love it or hate places, it seems.

What’s funny with that is we’d get dropped off at UTC and Fashion Valley as kids/teens to see a movie or two and kill some time. When North County Fair opened we all wanted to go to the indoor mall because it resembled a “real” mall we’d see in tv/movies, lol.

Ha yes, I vaguely remember a time when outdoor malls weren't cool as well.

They immediately ask, "What about when it rains?" Then they realize the silliness of their question.

LOL, usually, it takes about 2 or 3 weeks. You'll know them easily. They're carrying their Kansas City Chiefs umbrella everywhere they go, In May. They may ask you "When's it going to rain?" When you answer "Maybe Thanksgiving, or not." They give you the "Say What" look. Then, as the months go by, they begin to look at the clouds float by, and say, "If this were KC, it would be raining any minute." The clouds just float right on by...

If you're not free that's your fault not a city state or country.

People East of California visit and see those dark coastal overcast clouds and think a torrential downpour is about to happen...lol. Just good ole "june gloom" coming inland.
